This Drug Should Not Be Legal

Updated

Before I started taking saphris I was around 125 lbs. when I was taking it I was over 200lbs and it piled on quick.

Saphris gave me a side effect that I was rushed to the hospital in ambulance on multiple occasions.

The side effects weren't there at the beginning of taking it, but I started getting these side effects probably 3-4 months after and they would occur at least once a week.

These terrifying side effects were:
My jaw would lock open, I was unable to shut it or breath correctly. I could not swallow or talk and it felt like I couldn't breath. If you can imagine the way darth vador breaths except the sound was anything but even and I felt I had to force every darth vador sounding breath. Not even trying to be funny because this was the absolute scariest pain I've ever experienced in my life. I would also pee myself while all this was going on. I felt like I was possessed. Saphris will hurt your body, it is toxic and should be illegal. Please don't take it. I weened off of it and it was hard but I was suffering much more being on it. Have been off it for almost 4 years and am back to normal. The worst part was, I thought these problems I was having inherently had to do with me, that something was wrong with me. It was saphris. These side effects went away immediately when saphris was gone. Way to go FDA for approving this monster drug(sarcasm) doesn't surprise me in the least though. Do your research people on every drug prescribed to you. Do research on holistic herbal medicine/remedies and try eating organic food as medicine. Talk to your doctor before weening off your prescribed medication, but never ever ignore signs when your body is telling you something is not right. I hope this helps somebody and I hope saphris gets taken off the market.

Unfortunately, there are risks associated with all medications and antipsychotics, such as this one, are well known to cause a lot of them in some people that take them, according to the NIH, including issues like you've described. Weight gain is usually a very significant and problematic one.

I am sorry that you had such a bad experience taking it, though I am glad that things cleared up for you, after you stopped it.

Have you tried any other medications?

I had the same experience. It’s like you can’t breath and your muscles stiffen up. My psychiatrist said it means your allergic to the medicine. Taking Cogentin 2-3 times a day fixed the problem. Honestly, I’ve tried all antipsychotics and Saphris is by a large margin the best of the antipsychotics.

I am a former clinical psychologist. I have worked extensively with psychiatric admissions in a secure facility. These admissions ranged from civil voluntary and involuntary court orders. There is programming for criminal court admissions as well. Antipsychotic drugs are ordered in most cases. These drugs profoundly alter brain functioning. The patient will be subjugated by his or her court order, family, unit staff, and will be much more docile in personality. Therapists with little more than a high school diploma will assume control over these subjects. A case manager will assume control over the persons affairs by a programming structure. Physical side effects, which patients and their family are told to disregard begin to take their toll. Diabetes, a dry mouth syndrome will cause tooth decay and gum disease, impotence and lack of interest manifests - depo provera can further this, female specific abnormality, cardiac events, general ill health all gradually take hold.
Such patients are usually considered disabled and will be out of the work force. A part time job can be found which will apportion benefits paid under a supplemental security stipend. A case manager will take over any system obligations the patient incurs.
Many drugs accomplish this Imperialist goal. A Capitalist system will have proprietary interest in all aspects of the clients constricted life.
It is generally thought that control over a population is beneficial in a darwinian sense. Western psychiatry along with its other institutions help accomplish this end.
