The Lesser Of Two Evils

I had radiation and chemo for a tumour situated in the anal canal. The treatments caused chronic nerve pain in that area. My doctor prescribed Lyrica. It started with pain under my feet and my hands. Now my whole body, joints and muscles are affected. I get up in the morning and my whole body is stiff with pain. I also experience blurry vision, memory loss and cannot carry a simple conversation. I have gained 30plds. My Doctor now has diagnosed me fibromalgia and osteo arthritis due to the trauma of my cancer treatments. He continually shrugs it off that its not due to the Lyrica. I know that is what has caused all of these ailments. It has altered my whole life. I will be my own advocate from here on. Please let me know what you think!

It is not normal for the Lyrica to cause such issues, but from other posts on this site, I can tell you that are not the first person to suffer very odd effects from taking it.

How long were you on it?

Are you still taking it?

Yes i absolutly agree with u, Lyrica is the cause of the body pain, blurry vision, and not being able to concentrate! This drug is also EXTREAMLY ADDICTIVE!!! I also completly agree that we all need to b our own advocates because we obviously cannot trust or depend on our doctors to tell us the truth!!!!! Have u tried Flexeril to help ur muscles relax n not b so tense? It helps me. I've done some research on antiepileptic drugs n unfortunatly these r the drugs used to treat Fibromyalgia. But what i cannot believe is that Lyrica is the 1st drug approved by the FDA to treat Fibromyalgia, and the side effects are 100x's worse than the actual condition!!!!!
