Test Is False Positive

I am on suboxone and have been for 1 yr. I havent taking anything other than my subs and over the counter allergy meds and tylenol arthritis. I have had to take 2 drug test in the last 2 weeks and both came back positive for morphine. Now doc dismissed me. May God strike me dead if i am lying i didnt take anything other than what explained above. Why is this happening??? I need to find new doc and am scared to death to put anything in my mouth. I need help and am at a loss.

Morphine can come up as false positive from a lot of things. Tylenol PM, I've had a false positive for methadone from that. Tell them to send it to the lab for a more IN DEPTH test. I can't remember the names of the test but it will clear all that up


Another thing that I seen happens was they mixed up a friend's urine sample with another patient's and grilling him when it turned out they made the mistake!

Either way call them and DEMAND a better test!

I am on my second strike for a false positive and I'm freaking out because on the third one, they are going to boot me off the program. I am 100% drug free, including alcohol, no one believes me because I'm an ex-junkie fighting an up-hill battle that there is no way I can win. I am scared beyond belief. It is destroying me BECAUSE I AM CLEAN AND SOBER. On the first false positive I lost my license for a year (Cinderella license), and the second false positive completely floored me. I need to know what is causing this. I take a medication called "Meloxicam," for my knees, which is non-narcotic. I take two Suboxone 8 mg- 2 mg a day, and I take 800 mg Ibuprofen as needed. I am a plumber by trade, and I do use chemicals in my job, but I have to. I smoke Marlboro cigarettes (more so now, since this has happened). I am paying for a hair follicle test, which will cost anywhere between $400.00 and $1,000.00. I also requested that a blood test be taken along with all my U.A.'s from now on, but I was told that that wouldn't work because "the urine test is long term, and the blood test is short term." Also, the doctor told me that she's been doing this for 20 years and she's heard every excuse in the book, and she does not believe me. She also said that she thinks I am actually buying urine off the street, which makes absolutely no sense to me at all. This is at Community Health Connections in Fitchburg, MA. The doctor is Dr. Kathleen Sweeney. I have worked so hard this last two years, getting clean, doing this program, which includes clean u.a's for the last two years, counseling, working and getting out of debt, and now this. I now go in weekly instead of monthly. They will kick me off the program, I will lose my insurance and wont be able to get my medications any more, plus my license permanently and wont be able to work any more, which means I wont be able to pay child support. I will lose everything. If that happens, then what is the point of me even being here and working so hard at my sobriety. I will probably jump off a bridge if I don't get this figured out. Please help!

Corey, regardless of what happens, please do not jump off of anything. We may not be able to control how the world appears before us, but we can control how we appear in the world. I trust in your genuineness and the authenticity of your claims. You are worthy, whether those in power over these things believe that or not. You must believe it. Even if the current path ends, a new one can be found, so long as you keep searching for it.

I have no answers for you. I wish I did.

Same here! I'm 3 years sober and have taken nothing but my suboxone and Tylenol pm everyday and I test positive for methadone every test! It's extremely discouraging! You're clean and you know you are but you can't prove it!! Makes me want to give up! Every test that the methodone line shows up dark they send to the lab and always get a negative result. I just like many have seen 4 docs due to being kicked off the program but thankfully I found a doc who will send it out so I can prove I'm clean. I jus jad the same thing happen to me been on sub clinic in south boston for a year now And ive never had a dirty urine for anything...now i am positive for morphine and i SWEAR i have not taken anything but my meds..idk what ill do if it comes back positive again..this drug has helped me put my life back together and now im at risk of losing it.
