What I this medication used for? ## i need to know what this is used for ## Tessalon contains the active ingredient Benzonatate, and it is used to help treat severe coughing. The FDA warns that its side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, mouth numbness, and throat numbness. Why was it prescribed? My husband has the remains of a bottle here from when he had a bad bout of bronchitis a few months ago, he also had started developing pneumonia.
