Terrasil In South Africa

Hi there. I am a 27 year old female living in Durban. I have a conditiion that had started from the age of 17. I have been to numerous doctors but they cant seem to diagnose my condition. I searched the net and came to the conclusion that I may have folliculitus. These look like acne pimples but on the scalp. It is very painful,and there seems to be no medication for it.please inform me if you have tried something and it has relieved you from this. I have read about terrasil,if it does work where can a South African purchase it from.

Hi Lindy,

Based on my research, Folliculitis usually responds well to various treatment options. And from what I've read, hot, moist compresses may help drain the affected follicles.

According to nih.gov, treatment can include:
Antibiotics applied to the skin (mupirocin) or taken by mouth (dicloxacillin); as well as Antifungal medications to help control the infection.

However because I am not based in South Africa, unfortunately I can't tell you what is or is not available there. But I would encourage you to see a doctor about this at your earliest convenience in order to receive the appropriate kind of care.

Regarding Terrasil, this is a cream that is available without a prescription. You can purchase this cream at Walmart, Rite Aid, Walgreens or your local super market, in the over the counter medication section. It can also be found online at various retailers.
