UpdatedTelma H. 80 mg per day (Telmasartin + 12.5 hydrochlorothiazide)
My mother , 73 yrs old uses Telma H. 80mg per day. Can she replace it with Metoprolol Succinate 50 mg per day.... Any major side effects....please advice....urgent reply requested

She shouldn't make a change, without her physician's approval, since there is no diuretic in the new medication, which may be something she needs.
Side effects to the Metoprolol may include nausea, dizziness, hypotension and hair loss.
Has her doctor suggested this change?
