First have girlfriend do a preg test, get one or 2 at the drug store. If it comes back positive, she is pregnant. There is an 'abortion pill ' that she can take, but a regular abortion is MUCH easier and faster. Google 'Planned Parenthood', don't know if you are in US, but if so Planned Parenthood will give you all the info you need to decide what to do. Good luck, do not have a child if you cannot afford or are not ready to be a good parent, it is a lifetime commitment and very difficult.

Vikas, I don't know much about India, have had a friend (RN like myself) whose parents came here to the US. One thing I know is that one's parents have an extremely strong lifelong presence in their children's life, and the child is terrified to displease the parents. So I know you must be very frightened about your predicament.

I was under the impression that abortions are freely available due to the fact that it is more desireable to bear a male child, and so many women are likely to abort a female fetus particularly the first pregnancy. I saw something about this on a TV news show, but it was years ago. So things might have changed.

I myself have undergone several abortions, 2 because I was young and unmarried, and 2 after I was married and already had 2 children because I suffered from severe post-partum depression with my second child and my Dr told me for the sake of my health, I should terminate. Also, my husband at the time was abusive and I planned to divorce him.

At any rate, the 'abortion pill' is available here in the states, but it is more complicated than to just go to a REPUTABLE clinic were you can safely have the pregnancy terminated in one day, and be done with it. Look online for clinics, and find reviews for any that you are interested in , to make sure it is SAFE and clean.

I don't know if money is a problem, if so, also use the Internet to look for Resourses. Perhaps you have the 'abortion pill' RU85 it's called here, and that is cheaper. I just don't know what is available in India, but use the Internet, you seem like a bright girl, read and write English very well. When one is feeling anxious and worried, it's more difficult to concentrate. But look for answers on the web, make the boy who impregnated you, if you are still together, help you! Please let me know what you come up with, I am concerned about you, I have been in your position and I have a daughter your age as well. Best of luck, Vikas. Your wife will have to abort the pregnancy if no period for over a month, did you do a pregnancy test? If you did and it showed she was pregnant, and you do not want a baby now, it is best to get an abortion, go to Dr., there is a pill that Dr can give her, but that takes 3 days to work. Easier to just have it done by the Dr, only takes about 1/2 hour and they can make her sleep while they do it. DON'T WAIT! The longer she waits, the worse it is for her, NOW is the best time!!
