Sylate Side Effects

My wife is bleeding after giving birth and has been advised to take sylate. Are there any side efects? If so kindly enumerate and explain.

Sylate contains the active ingredient Etamsylate, it is used to help slow bleeding and prevent hemorrhage.

I don't have a lot of information on it, since it isn't commonly used in the U.S. and most doctors don't think it necessary to give to a woman, after she gives birth, unless she's bleeding severely, because some bleeding for a week afterwards is normal and it will usually taper off and stop on its own.

However, it may cause some nausea and increase the risk of developing blood clots.
