Sulfamethoxazole with Trimethoprim is the generic for Bactrim and no, it is actually listed in the warnings that it should not be taken by anyone with significant liver disease, of any type.

I RECENTLY BROKE OUT ON MY FACE (LOWER JAW MOSTLY) WITH LARGE RED BUMPS, BOILS, SCABS . I WENT TO MY DR AND HE PRESCRIBED FOR ME SULFAMETHOXAZOLE DS TABLET ALONG WITH AMOX TR-K CLV500-125 MG TAB, ITS NOW 3 DAYS LATER AND THESE BUMPS HAVE TRAVELED UP AND DOWN MY NECK, MY TONGUE, HEAD EVEN IN MY EAR!! DR IS TREATING IT AS IF IT IS MRSA, MY MOTHER HAS HAD MRSA OVER THE YEARS.IS THIS NORMAL? ALSO, HE DID NO CULTURE AS THERE WAS NO PUS.

I was prescribed Bactum for a Mrsa skin infection I'm also taking Lisinopril, citalopram, astorvastatin, and metoprolol succer I saw the drug interaction red warning for these two medication I only taken two so far but I'm having some chest discomfort, should my doctor have prescribed this to me
