Side effects of Sulfamethoxazole + Trimethoprim can include; joint aches, unusual bruising or bleeding, severe tingling, numbness, and muscle pain or weakness. There are a lot more possible side effects associated with this medication, but those listed above are the only ones that I would consider to be linked to your muscle pain.

NOTE: the side effects above are regarded as being "severe side effects"; so it is strongly advised that you contact your doctor about it, in case you have to switch medications.

You can view a detailed description of the drug by clicking on the link below...

I just took the last pill today and since I've been on these antibiotics, they had me feeling horrible. My muscles were extremely sore and weak. Ive found two small bruises on my leg as well. This was supposed to be treating my sinus infection. Even though Im done taking the pills, Should I still contact the doctor about the bruises

This medicine caused me to have numbness and pain. In my leg's that was so bad I could barely walk. I ended up in the ER yesterday 9/19/13 I will not be taking anymore. Im so glad I found this site. The Dr.'s were clueless about what was wrong with me.
