Sulfameth Th Trimethoprim 800 160

can you take sulfameth/th/trimethoprim 800 160 with meloxicam 7.5.. I am taking it for a sinus infection and cough, but my costachondritis has flared up and wanted to take meloxicam

My findings state that there are in fact interactions between these two drugs. Posted below are the precautions you should be aware of:

"Coadministration with inhibitors of CYP450 2C9 may theoretically increase the plasma concentration (potency) of meloxicam. The clinical significance is unknown. The potential for an interaction should be considered during concomitant use."

Based on the info above, I would recommend talking to your doctor before going through with taking the meloxicam, just to play it safe.

However, it may not be your costochondritis and the Meloxicam may not help. Since what you're taking is a sulfa based antibiotic, it can cause some odd side effects, including some joint pain and, if that's what it's from, then relief will likely not occur until a few days after you finish your course of treatment with it. I've experienced the same types of issues when I was on it once.
