Does Taking Subutex And Methadone Make You Sick?

I took 30 mg of Methadone in the morning and an 8 mg Subutex in the afternoon. I don't feel sick. Am I supposed to?

My DR started me on 10mg of methadone. couple of days later, my mouth was parcially numb and my taste was all messed up. I didnt even consider it to be the methadone. I thought it was something I ate. but then after a few more days, I figured it had to be the methadone. Has anyone else had methadone cause their inside moth to be numb or totally mess with their taste buds? If so, how long after stopping methadone till your taste came back to normal?

Methadone can cause numbness in the extremities, but I haven't read any specific details describing it in the mouth or affecting taste buds. This doesn't mean it can't happen, however, I'd probably encourage you to bring this up with your prescribing doctor if it becomes too bothersome.

I also wonder if it could be related to an allergy to the methadone or its fillers? NIH.gov lists "swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat" as an allergic reaction. Just a thought.
