Subutex Doctor - East Coast - Help Me Find One Please!!!! (Page 9)
(Newest replies first)

Updated

I have been on Subutex for a year. My Doctor has retired, abruptly. I cannot find another physician willing to prescribe me Subutex (24 mg. daily) instead of Suboxone. I travel a lot w/ work. I would be grateful if anyone could tell me ANY Doctor anywhere on the East Coast that prescribes Subutex. Suboxone breaks me out in horrible itchy rashes and welts, makes breathing a little difficult and gives me blinding headaches- within ten to fifteen minutes of taking it. I am serious about recovery. Can someone help?!

With Subutex you can crush it up into a power and the insulfation is much higher then putting it under your tongue. This is the main reason doctors try not to use it. And much like Methadone there are going to be all kind of new laws about dispensing it. They will go from monthly to bi-weekly to weekly. Then blood work, chest x-rays group counseling. All to make money. The doctors are making a fortune for a 10 minute visit and the poor people that take drugs, all this stress just makes it worse. Of course doctors have to be certified and attend meetings. When I first started it use to give me energy and I felt good all day, also many patients will split their dose and take half in the morning and half at night. That was when I was on 24mg, now down to 4mg, but most people say you can get down to 1mg but after that its very hard to just jump off. Anyway Suboxone, Film, Subutex I have tried them all, I don’t need any Nalaxone and it made white blisters under my tongue, so the tex was at least workable, most doctors will give a $75 Off coupon to bring to the pharmacy, but its only good for the film, seems they want the stock to go up. In ending, check the rates of where you insert your Sub, Tongue was like 2%, nose was like 11% and pushing up your butt was like 19%, Butt is called “Plugging” but thats a one way street for me so wouldn’t think of it…… So there are 3 ways other than IV that you can get more into your system and be able to use less. Hope it helps, best thing is to just get off all this stuff………

Try Addiction Pain Management in Washington Twp., NJ 856-589-1440. They have been helping me for 6 years. I am prescribed Subutex. They do not take insurance though and your first visit is more expensive than your monthly visits. Best of luck to you!

hi chasp11 - or others who may know and are able to give any info/insight, what does the expression "rail" mean, not to sound lupid, just never heard, sounds interesting! i have been taking suboxone since october 2010 - just suboxone, never subutex...i have asked both doctors (in the same practice) that i have seen for over 3 years now, about subutex and they get all weird and of course i know why, only pregnant women, blah blah, they never mentioned anything about naloxone allergy and i do not have one that i am aware of....my problem is, and my doc is fully aware of this and sees my frustration since july...i took only the suboxone original brand tablet for almost 3 years - it was perfect and over time i got to a point where most days i got by quite well with just one tablet or a half of one...then the tablets went away and i HATE the film, and i don't care what my doc or anyone else says, to me at least, they are NOT the same. i have since had my dose increased from 1.5 film a day to 2.5 and am pissed he won't up it to 3 and i could finally relax and stop counting. i still can't believe i am finding myself in this situation with subox and i am frustrated to tears at times, because i was so happy to finally be done with the effin pills that took my money and pride, managed to get a life back for myself and was eternally grateful my friend told me of subox and gave me his docs info and i got an appt, no looking back...suboxone is no longer the same for me...i get to feeling weird sometimes that my doc looks at me like this is in my head, but how can that be the case when everything was fine for almost 3 years and since the films i find myself in situation where most of the summer til he upped me, i was actually running out and having to call his office and get 6 or 8 or so called in for me to get me to appointment day? It makes me want to scream!! August of 2012 i had two extra 1-month supply bottles because when i started taking less they added up! i could go almost 2 months between appointments but tried not to do that because i wanted the cushion and man am i glad i did because i used them up after i stopped getting Rx with tabs!

I hear positive things about subutex from an efficacy stand point - they do the job...do u agree with this and have u taken suboxone also? I've had a hard time finding someone who has taken both for a long enough length of time to fully compare the two. Is subutex sublingual also? I am assuming there is no film and with having just lost my insurance and Rx plan, i am eligible for certain discounts but it is nothing like my $10 copay that is now gone with the wind, and i clearly see pharmacies & most all else involved do not like brand names which the film i take is, and they really only give considerable discounts on generic anything....so not only are the film causing me anxiety, angst, frustration, they are too effin expensive or unaffordable completely really...i don't need a car payment equivalent for crappy film...
how does one go about getting their doc to switch them? i was never a drug abuser, just run of the mill take the pill and wait 25 minutes person and i know they trust me i am probably their best patient and God knows how much money they have sucked up from me at $25/week since every week i'm there and intial start fee of $400 or so, maybe more i forget. i don't know how to prove i am trustworthy and not looking to do anything outside of the lines.

sorry for rambling, it's the stress and thinking all the time on what to do. Oh, and taking more does help, 2.5 films are about 70% as effective as one tablet. I used to get a very evened out feeling, a calm, it worked like an anti-depressant for me...2.5 film barely does same job. but most days if i get enough sleep and take my vitamins i can face the world mostly ok. thanks all and any info, even if harse, please share. i won't count on getting sub anytime soon, would the financial aspect work with a doc? thanks again.

I have a doc in Northern VA that will give subtex, probably most docs/states will if you know the trick and don’t look like you just want them to rail. Reply back if you still need a place and I will tell you how…..

Hi. Sorry, just saw your response to get in touch with you. I am not sure allowed to post my email or not but, I will if I am allowed. We can see you tomorrow if, you are still interested in starting, subutex, we can help asap(tomorrow, Wed, 10/30/13 - appts available and, affordable, private office where you don't have to come in everyday). Subutex can be prescribed but, is always at the Doctor's discretion. Many patients do not have insurance and, we understand about the huge price difference. Subutex (actually, only a generic now so it's, Buprenorphine makes it possible for people, without insurance, to actually get help and, continue with the medication). Our office is in Neptune, NJ -- Exit 102B off GSP (close to Eatontown, Asbury Park) If interested just respond and, we can discuss and, set appt. that is convenient for you, if tomorrow is not. This message goes out to anyone that needs an appt. Thanks a lot.
Grace

Hi. A little late (today is Oct 20, 2013) but, have you been able to locate a doctor to continue with your Subutex (Buprenorphine 8mg tablet) treatment yet? If you still need help please, let me know. I can assist you with possibly getting an immediate appointment in New Jersey Shore area (Neptune, NJ- which is close to Asbury Park, NJ, Point Pleasant, NJ etc.). Thanks. Grace
