Suboxone Stoppage

Can someone please tell me if I can stop taking suboxone all at once. I have only been on it for one month or so and it is an 8 mg. doseage twice a day. Will it be safe or will I have withdrawals.

I have been on Suboxone 8 mg. twice a day for two months. Can I stop taking it cold turkey or will I have withdrawals? Someone please tell me. Thanks

Yes, stopping it abruptly will most likely cause withdrawals.

If you want to stop taking it, the best thing to do would be to speak to your doctor about the proper way to taper off of it.

The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and its withdrawal effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, fever, chills, diarrhea and rebound pain.
