Suboxone Vs Methadone

im going to have my second knee surgery soon i just lost my doctor of 10 years,never had a problem with him the new doctor who i have had for 2 months now is driving me crazy with urine test every 2 weeks i get 30 mg of perks 4 times a day some months i run 4 or 5 days short so i took some methadone for the withdrawals,and it showed up in the test, now i have to get another doctor because he thinks im selling them whem im really just taking more than im suppose to,and i honestly told him the truth but a week later he found it in the test again but i did not even take anymore ,if this happens again would i be better off taking suboxone instead of methadone....anyone please...

By taking more than you are supposed to, you have broken your treatment agreement with the doctor. You really should have spoken to them about the current dosage not handling your pain, before you took something else.

And no, you can't take Suboxone, while you are on other narcotic analgesics, because it contains Buprenorphine and Naloxone. The Naloxone is used to neutralize other narcotics, to prevent people from abusing them, while they are under treatment with it.

It tends to last in your system for awhile, so even a few doses of it would affect your use of your pain medications for quite a few days, afterwards.

In addition, while the Buprenorphine itself has to be specifically tested for, since it usually isn't included on standard tests, it can cause false positives for other synthetic and semi-synthetic opiates, so you may end up causing yourself even more trouble.
