Suboxone False Positive

I am not on suboxone, and have not taken or done any, but my drug test keeps coming up positive for it. Is there anything such, other medications, stuff in food or drink, etc. that could be causing this false reading? Please help.

It is possible with some other medications, for instance if you have taken anything that contains other synthetic opiates, such as Oxycodone or Hydrocodone.

However, no, it should not just show up from foods or beverages.

Can you post back with a list of the other medications you take, even over the counter items, so I can check for you?

I have only taken suboxov in treatment 10 months ago, but my urine came back positive for suboxone. I am taking dilantin, motrin, celexa, melatonin, and remeron. What may have caused this?

i have been given drug test and i have showed a false positive for suboxone i dont take it nor any other pills i dont take any drugs i am on probation and in rehab i am tested 10 times a month i cant do any drugs at all why would i fail for this suboxone i didnt even know what it was till i failed for it can someone tell me why i showed a false positive for this i only take ibuprofen for my headaches? also baking soda and water for heart burn could this be why i dont understand it someone plz help.

i know for a fact pepcid ac chewables and generic pepcid chewables cause false positives for suboxone. only other thing i was taken. this happened twice to me.

I'm testing positive for Suboxone also on the Urine Analysis "strips in a cup" test. I have asked for further testing (gas chromatography) to invalidate the FALSE positive. I believe the test to be totally INACCURATE.

HELP! I have NEVER taken Suboxone in my life. I've never even seen it in real life. After 5 years of clean urine screens for pain management, I suddenly tested positive for it in June. I swore to my doctor I hadn't taken Suboxone or anything else not prescribed to me (because it was and is true) he said he had never seen a false positive but that he was inclined to believe me and would run more specific tests. I went back in a few days ago and he said that I had tested positive a second time, that Suboxone contains a very specific molecule that cannot be misidentified and that he would chalk it up to adulterants in my medications if other patients had tested positive, but no one else had. I'm pretty sure he doesn't believe me anymore. He was willing to send one more sample to another lab, but if it comes back positive he has to discontinue my pain meds. I am taking Zoloft, Xanax, Perphenazine (generic Trilifon), Trazodone, Oxymorphone, Oxycodone, Zyrtec, Excedrin, Sudafed, multivitamins, calcium and magnesium. I stand to lose the Oxycodone and Oxymorphone and, given the severity of the pain I'm facing, that literally puts my life on the line. I feel completely powerless because I never put Suboxone in or on my body in the first place, meaning there is nothing I can do to fix this. I'm scared to death and I don't know where to turn. Please DO NOT give me advice on getting away with taking Suboxone because I can't use it and I don't want it. PLEASE DO respond with ANY information or advice you may have for someone who really is not taking Suboxone and is testing positive for it

Test strip for Buprenorphine
in the multi-drug "cup" test is known to be defective, anecdotally about half the time in some batches. I've had 2 false positive readings refuted by immunoassay lab tests.

Me too an my pain doctor dropped Mr I never took or heard of soboxcin. I have lupus an rad. I'm in horrific pain, an now in 4 days I will have no pain meds. Doctor even told me I had so little but it was there 6 years I never failed a drug test. An now I did please tell me what u found out. Thanks

YES!!! I took melatonin and had a positive on my urine test for suboxone and this was the only none prescription I had taken so I knew that had to be it. I didn't take the melatonin that night and went back the next day and tested clean. I also had 5 nurses standing around with me as we crushed up one of the melatonin and dissolved it in water and tested it and it came up POSITIVE. As one of the nurses said, the melatonin made the test go crazy.

I'm recently residing in an inpatient program and have been testing negative since December. Just recently I got called in for questioning for a positive toxicology on Suboxone. How is this possible?

I just came up with morphine or codeine in my urine tests, as well as loratadine or hydroxyzine. I'm on suboxone so there is no reason for me to come up positive. Can someone help me out?

My doctor told me today that I tested positive for oxycodone which I get, but also said I was positive for opiates and Suboxone. I've only taken Suboxone twice my whole life and none recently. I told him it has to be a mistake. There's no way I took Suboxone.

I was told that I had allegedly tested positive for suboxone, but never used it. However, I do take 300 mg of seroquel and to my understanding, both drugs have naloxone in them. I don't want to appear as a drug user. Is there a relationship between seroquel, suboxone and naloxone? Please, please help me. Thanks.

I had taken a hair folic test and I am on subutex. The tested showed positive hydrocodone. Is this possible because I had not taken any thing with hydrocodone.

My daughter failed a drug screen (mouth swab) last Monday. She does 3 screens a week for the past year, never failing one except this one coming back for Suboxone that she didn't take. She had been sick and took NyQuil, the antibiotic Z-pack, and ibuprofen. Could the NyQuil cause a false positive for the Suboxone? If not, what could have? Please help! #DesperateMama

I am in pain management and prescribed percocet and recently my doctors office said that my drug screen came up positive for suboxone. I also take kratom in addition to the percocet. I was wondering if anyone else has ever had kratom show up as a false positive for suboxone or any other opioid blocker on a drug test? I am beyond frustrated as the doctors office staff does not believe me that I NEVER took any suboxone. I have also read that prilosec can cause a false positive for suboxone and I have a prescription for that as well. I tried to tell the nurse practitioner about that and she shut me down immediately saying that is not possible. I don't know what could have possibly caused my drug screen to show up positive for suboxone. Please let me know if this has happened to anyone else while they were taking kratom or prilosec.
