Do NOT PAY ATTENTION to that suboxone.com site. Most of those doctors listed are NOT suboxone doctors or treatment centers. They are mental health facilities or doctors that DO NOT PRESCIBE SUBOXONE. I WISH PEOPLE WOULD STOP TELLING OTHERS TO GO TO THAT WEBSITE. TRUST ME. I tried desperately to find a suboxone dr for my son using that site because that's what everybody on this meds chat tells people to do. 90% of the doctors that I called on that list do not prescribe Suboxone, in fact some of them are not addiction doctors at all. I finally found a doctor by the name of dr. Britt in Louisville Kentucky. I know that you're out of Indianapolis but we come from Indiana to and that is the closest doctor I could find for my son. There are no doctors in Greensburg Indiana, there are no doctors in Lawrenceburg Indiana, there are no doctors in Rising Sun Indiana or any of those other places that they advertise. That site is a joke, please don't waste your time. I know it's a ways to travel to Louisville Kentucky but it's very well worth it. Dr. Britt is a very caring doctor it's $225 for your first visit and my son pays $225 a month and his prescriptions cost him nothing. Look him up online dr. Britt out of Louisville Kentucky.

Lulu, I just want to say thank you on behalf of your son, for being his backbone during the chaos. Despite what people think, "WE" hate being addicts. To have someone that doesn't tear us down, but instead lifts us up... and says "what are we going to do next?", when one thing doesn't work. Well it can literally mean life or death. I'm sure your son appreciates you much as I'm saying, but I just wanted to let you know how important people like you are. I found my dr about a year ago and I'm forever grateful for finding him.... ok, I'm done with the mushy stuff. ;). Thank you to everyone that is there for or is "trying" to be there for someone going through this. Good luck and Good bless to allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll of you!!!!

You dont know what you're talking about. It's not a one size fits all treatment plan for everyone! I couldn't get by on 12mg a day so don't tell me what i need just worry about you.

Numberjohnny5, maybe you shouldn't be on a "forum", where everyone is going to have an opinion and contribute their experience to this site. Just because it doesn't help you, didn't mean that persons story won't help someone else. Everyone on here is or has dealt with this evil struggle (whether the addict or a family or friend). Quit being so harsh and just skip over what didn't apply to you. God bless you!

Johnny, I was and am aware that it was not directed to me. I just think it was harsh to tell someone they don't know what they're talking about, just cause you don't agree with what was said. They even said that they know it won't work for everyone, so shes not saying you're not normal if you can't do her plan. She just was saying that you have to find some strength from somewhere and not expect a strip or a pill to resolve everything about your addiction. Anyways, I'm responding nicely now, so I hope you don't have some smart a$$ comeback, because I don't do good with that. Just try to be a little more encouraging. Most people are in a fragile state and need that mustard seed of hope. Maybe you could be the one to give that to someone.... Have a blessed day!

@nicole I agree with you completely
@Lulu I am going thro it now with my daughter. Can I ask how old your son is. My daughter isnt even 18 yet. She's in rehab right now. They think sub maybe best for her but i dont agrer because she's only been using for a few months and shes not 18 yet. So I'm not sure if I agree. I am on sub too.

My son is 30 years old but he's not been sober since he was 17 years old. PLEASE get her on suboxone! I wish that suboxone would have been available back then. My son wishes the same. He's been sober 1 year now and they have already reduced his dosage by 4mg a month and he's doing great. He's a new man. If you don't I'm afraid that you're looking at a long road of in and out of jail/prison or even worse possible death. If you're on subs then you know that it takes more and more and more to feel that "HIGH". THAT'S when they start using stronger more dangerous drugs. I'm a nurse and have seen the devastation of addiction from a professional and personal view. I've seen people who had strokes and are wheelchair bound not being able to talk or walk or feed themselves due to overdosing on pain meds alone. I can emphasize with your dilemma because I've been there. I have 2 children that are sober now because of suboxone. My daughter has been sober over 3 years now. I'm so proud of them. Do what your heart tells you to do. I wish we could talk in person. I can tell you're an amazing parent or you wouldn't be on this site. As a nurse I see that the percentage of people that get sober without suboxone I mean with going cold turkey and counseling only do NOT stay sober compared to being under the care of a physician using suboxone and slowly tapering off.

It's hard to find a suboxone dr that doesn't charge outrageous fees.

Try API in Greencastle, they accept HIP. And they have a second location but can't remember where. It's a drive for me but cost nothing for visit or meds. You have to take a drug panel twice before they will help you, but you can go the next day and you have to have a councilor. Hope this helps. I'm trying to find a doctor that's closer and accepts my insurance but no luck yet.

If you found one for $200 that is cheap! They charge more for the first initial intake visit and then it should be less monthly afterwards. I can post a list of Dr. # that I've recently called that have open availability but I can't tell you if they take your insurance unless you have the same as me, Mdwise Hip Plus.
hey Renee
I would appreciate the list. Please.

Thanks

Dr Britt in Louisville ky is a great doctors accepting new patients. $225. First visit. He REALLY cared about your recovery. Its a long drive for my loved one but very well worth it. And he gets a pre auth that lasts 6 months. So you don't have to wait a couple days every month to get your suboxone. My loved one has HIP PLUS Insurance so he has license to write scripts valid in Indiana. Hope it helps.
