That sucks. I'm not having luck anywhere else really besides places that want $300-$400 and I was going to go there. There is a dr. Masimore in Franklin at the pain management. Tobias try there. I saw him 2 years ago but didn't go back because I wasn't sure of being on subs at the time. I may know of another place, waiting for a call back. My dr. closed down at journey Rd and referred me to a place and the lady said she was going to call me right back to make an apt and hasn't yet! So ive called several times. Bunch of bs, these drs just want the $

can not find a doctor that doesn't want to charge 200 to 300 for office visit?

If you found one for $200 that is cheap! They charge more for the first initial intake visit and then it should be less monthly afterwards. I can post a list of Dr. # that I've recently called that have open availability but I can't tell you if they take your insurance unless you have the same as me, Mdwise Hip Plus.

Update: I did find a Dr. that will sent P.A. for Hip insurance to pay for the meds but not apt. I also wanted to ask anyone if they'd had the Vivitrol shot for opioid or alcohol abuse?

Renee - do you have the number Amanda called you from to cancel your appointment? She said she would call me in a script and I've looked everywhere but can't find where she called it in or she forgot. I can't get ahold of them AT ALL.... also what dr did she refer you to? I wrote it down but can't find it. I know one was Dr Patel, or something.

Yes. I still have her #. She should of asked you what pharmacy you wanted and called it in. And I did get into that Dr! It took them 3 weeks to call me back tho. I went to my apt and didn't have any probs. You Google it? Amandas #. {edited for privacy}

Kelly- there is also a Dr. In greenwood at the family dr. Office right on the corner of S. Emerson and Main st. taking patients. $250 first apt. Then $170 a month for visits. You have to go into theit office first and fill out paper work to see if they can see you then they will call you back on 24 hrs

Also, have you tried Dr. Masimore in franklin? I went to him 2 years ago and he took my insurance for the apt and meds!

@B (post #459) - I don't how you got to that site but most of these physicians and facilities ARE NOT suboxone doctors or treatment centers. That site is providing false information. NONE of the community mental health centers prescribe suboxone and there are no doctors in Aurora, Lawrenceburg, Greensburg, or Rising Sun that prescribe suboxone. So this list is useless. Trust me. I've called them all at that site over a year ago for a loved one with HIP PLUS insurance. Finally found Dr. Britt in Louisville ky for them. He's fantastic. My loved one has been going to him for a year now. He's a very carrying and down to earth doctor. Costs $225 monthly office visit and his office faxes a pre-auth that's good for 6 months to your pharmacy. So no waiting for P.A. EVERY TIME YOU GO TO PHARMACY. SUBOXONE COSTS $0.00.

If you have Indiana Medicaid or HIP here is a place to find a very reliable list of doctors [suboxone.com/treatment-plan/find-a-doctor]. Unfortunately a majority of them are CASH PAY. HOWEVER, there are several on this list that DO take insurance. However, be prepared to have to drive a couple hours (LCP transportation can be used and paid for if this is the case), be put on a wait list and/or have personal counseling once you are able to find a doctor. My suggestion is if you are seriously wanting to find a doctor that takes your insurance, start making phone calls. Although this is of help, the best way to get things done is to just do it yourself. I called probably 50 doctors and found 5 that would take my medicaid. Fortunately I was in to see a doctor within 2 weeks of being put on a wait list. I do have transportation take me 2 hours away every 2 weeks and I have to attend counseling once a week but both of these are a very small price to pay for the life I am able to live today!! The doctor I use is found on this list, has been very understanding and supportive and does his part to try to help me get better. It's like I have heard in the rooms, you can get busy living or you can get busy dying...which is it you want to do today!!??

Side note and as others have stated, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME GOING TO OR CALLING API CLINIC.

I go to a Dr. in Crawfordsville. Everyone is hating on him because he after your first yr he puts you on a half 8mg strip....and that's okay....I'm living. I was a heavy opiate patient.... And after a year on ONE 8mg I got cut to a HALF....pretty damn good. I have a son. I don't have time to feed off more then that! Its ALL in your head! He's a great Dr and he wants the best for you...and yeah in below statements he may be "covering" his ass but he is helping tho.... You don't need to go to a Dr that will wright a script for 2 a day....that's ridiculous....believe me when I say that....and yes I agree some addicts may need that but cut down....drs everywhere are cutting ppl left and right....get your head straight, go threw the little "detox" it does cause and like me you'll be off it in no time! I get #15 a month which does last me till the day....maybe 2 days sooner if I have a bad day, but y'all can't tell me everyday is a bad day....be thankful you're alive. Live a little and yeah, i know I'll get s*** from this but sit and think about it. Sub's don't make you feel high....they're for your comfort, which if you want a good Dr. adjust!

Very few are taking patients with insurance, chances are you will be out on a wait list. I referred a buddy I was in IOP with to my doctor over a month ago. He went to meet the dr, had blood work and a u/a done and has to go back next week to see if doc will subscribe to him (was the same process for me as well). I suggest you use the link provided in post #494, make some calls to see who closest to you will take your insurance, be prepared for a wait list and quite possibly to even be rejected.
