Starting Subs Tomorrow.need Advice!

Well I just took my last little piece of Oxycotton. I start my induction in 24 hrs and I'm so nervous. I'm also excited to though. I have a beautiful family that I have put on hold for way to long for my addiction. I think I'm just nervous about being in enough withdrawls I guess. I don't want this suboxone to make me sick. I have been using about 80 mg Oxys for a few months and before that I was taking Vic,Percs whatever opiates I could get my hands on. I would say I have been using daily for about 6 months. So really not that long. Seems like a horriable nightmare seeing as I had almost 10 years clean from Herion and Methadone!! I did complete my methadone program and successfully and SLOWLY weened off!! I felt like I had a new start! I had a new life..A family. All it took was one bad injury and a doc writing up scripts for Vics and Percs to throw me right back where I was before.. in my addiction.Don't get me wrong, I don't blame anyone but MYSELF. I'm an opiate addict and I understand that now. I want help and I want to succeed again! I feel so blessed to have found a caring doc who is helping me with my addiction and with my MIND which I think is very important. So back to the withdrawl. I was told by my doc to wait 24 hr since I have been removing the time release and cutting the pill into four pieces. I take one in morn,one afternoon,evening and one before bed. I no longer take it to get high.I take it so i won't get sick. So I'm hoping since I took my last piece at 10am I will be in enough WD by 10 tomorrow for my induction. Do you all think this should be enough time? I really hope so. I want to do this once and I want to do it right ya know? My Doc is also letting me choose if I want to be on Suboxone Or Subutex I have read and researched all over the interent & I know the difference between the two and it seems like Suboxone has a lot of people complaining about Mood Swings, Depression and Anxiety do to the Naloxone.I'm really leaning towards Subutex as of right now. I hope to get some responces I could really use and advice and support I can get right now. I'm really alone in this. My Husband has no idea. Me and My doc are the only ones who know. I was also wondering what did all of you do to ease your WD day before induction? I was giving a script for Xanax to help but I really don't know if that will even work. Will I feel completely normal after taking the subs? No withdrawls? Thanks for reading! Any advice is greatly appreciated.

The Xanax should help with some of the withdrawal effects, though it can cause side effects of its own, such as: nausea, drowsiness, headache and irritability.

Most people do still experience some withdrawal when they start the Suboxone, though it is not usually reported as being severe.

WAS ON SUBOXONE FOR 2 YEARS. I THINK IT WAS MY SAVING GRACE DUE TO MY SEVERAL SURGERIES .

Try your best to get the Subutex. Suboxone with the Naloxone is not really in your best interest. Its the M.D.'s best interest. The 8mg tabs will cover just about any withdrawal you might have. It's a very potent opiate related medication that made me sick after about a week of it. I will go cold turkey before taking either Subutex or Suboxone again.

for me suboxone is the best, i was using all possible opiate, even snorted 10 40mg oc in 6 hours, anything for a high. now im on suboxone and no withdrawals

and to add to my last post i was started on 24mg and on my own dropped dowm to less than 1mg then stopped by waiting on withdrawals to start not 1 pill a day

Good luck!!! I am interested as to which works best because I am in the same situation where no one knows except me and my brother and I have a family that I do not want to lose....please post which works best...

For the people who want to get away from opiate dependency, In my opinion, when you first start taking suboxone dont be looking for a high, keep your dosage as low as possible but not so low that you still crave opiates. I think that 8mg is plenty for anyone no matter what your coming off of and ive done almost everything( not sure about people that inject heroin) but, if you can do less do it. subs are hard to come off of in any dose. but for me ive been on them for around 4 years now and im breaking 8mg into six peices now,(sometimes I take an extra peice if i fill umcomfortable) but eventually ill get to where i can break into 8 or more peices doing only one peice at a time when i first start to fill any form of bothersome withdrawal for me its constant yawning and before you know it youll be going every 2 days before needing it then every3 days ( this worked for me before and I got completely off everything but it was too early for me I wasnt ready to quitt but now i am and i will and so can you but only if you want to quit. if you still want the opiate buzz then stay on subs.

For me I also take adderall for (AADD) which i dont recomend to anybody who has been using pain pills to get high because youll start abusing the adds as. well. Anyhow the reason I mentioned them is because when Im on the adds I have to use more suboxone so that i dont start withdrawl. Im not sure why but apparently adderall works against suboxone. Any how if anyone would like to talk about whatever your welcomed to email me. Ill be glad to give you any help I can.
