my freind has an addiction to oxycontin, and now she has dilaudid 4 mg, and she plans on taking it too, b/c one of her freinds said that its like oxycontin and that she would get the same effect. does anyone no if its safe to do so?

Thank you, this is what I was looking for, I'm in the exact same position; lupus, fibro, kids and I have a great pain management dr. But the pain is so intense at times, I cannot function. My dr is willing to up my meds; oxycodone dilaudid and soma, due to my condition drugs have given me a life out side of my bed.... Now I don't want to move up to even harder drugs so if there was a way like snorting to not actually up the dose and work better on relieving the pain. I will take it. Before going streight to oxycontin and up. Thank you

it seems to me that i am getting more and more addicted to dilaudid. It seems like i am more addicted to the snort than i am the pill. i take maybe 5-9 pills a day i start off my morning by having 2 then maybe an hour later i will start doing 1 maybe every 1-2hours til the end of the night but to me i am not getting no reaction or maybe i am too affected to know they are working. I think i am going to go back on my percocet 10/325 at least i cant abuse those before i get out of control. i had knee surgery but its not that serious

You don't have to be an addict to snort drugs.. I happen to be very successful, have excellent relationships, and am very fulfilled in my life... you aren't necessarily throwing your life away if you decide to do drugs.. even hard drugs. It's good to ask questions, have experiences, and make memories. {edited for safety}

I came onto this site to learn , maybe something,about dilaudid and how to elevieate my pain,here I find all this advice on how to get the most high from it from what sounds like people who have nothing going for themselves but to get high and be no one's and not let life mean a thing . all I would like is to live my life without any pain which is caused by an injury I incured when I was younger, caused by a drunk driver.

I HAVE CANCER AND TAKE DILAUDID'S BUT NEVER ABUSE THEM OR TAKE THEM TO GET HIGH, YU MAKE ME SICK TO BE HONEST.. YOU NEED REHAB NOT DRUGS, POSTING ON THE INTERNET IS NOT A GOOD IDEA BUT PLEASE DO IT MAKES THE DR'S AND COPS JOBS EASIER!!!! YOUR NOT TO BRIGHT ARE YOU?? YOU MUST BE HIGH NOW!!!

I DO know that oxys have a wax base and know someone who died from there lungs getting coated, so that i know.. with dilaudid there is no wax base but im sure it is dangerous... good luck to your friend and i hope he or she gets the help they need..

You gave me the exact answer I've been Googling for. I'm in constant bad pain (no other pain med helps) and Dilaudid helps somewhat but seems to take a long time to work and doesn't last long. It's my only hope tho' and snorting it will help me much much more.

I've been taking Dilaudid 8's for a LONG TIME! I've also done the Oxy thing too. Not too much because taking them orally never did a thing for me so someone recently introduced other ways of taking them and I do find a difference, just not as much of one as I thought. I have to high tolerance to really notice the difference! So I believe it all depends on the person or mg's.

i see alot of be carefuls, but i think most of us know this, but it doesn't hurt to let us know this either.

Mu thoughts on certain people is , if like me, they know alot about drug interactionas and can probably be better prescribers than most. i like opiates in all forms, some are dirty and some are clean.

if i was a doc and someone told me they need oxys to function, i would believe them. i would start low and set a max. there is nothing wrong with the fact that opiates motivate.

Take some people i know. The pot head is lazy and i can not get him to go outside fishing or camping or anything and he is not busy ever. I can ask any one of my buddies for takes oxycodone to go out fishing or whatever and its on, we have a good time , weekend it up and it motivates is to be active. I personlly like pot but smoking pot makes me lazy and i need something else to motivate me. Kratom is my legal alternitive, but sometimes its just not enough

Obviously none of you have lost anyone to pain pill overdose!! My son has lost 3 friends he grew up with so far. I have severe Crohn's disease and have taken pain meds for years now and they still scare me to death!! I was talking to my daughter about the snorting and smoking of pain pills that kids are doing now and was blown away by how common this is now!!! If you feel the need to get high, how about just smoking a bowl? At least it won't kill you!!!

I used to take the drugs to get high, all of them there wasnt one I didnt like, Now I have constant pain from a disease not associated with my prior drug use. I take my pills one at a time and as little as possible to control the Pain. Now I hate all the drugs because I have to take them to survive, and they all have side effects. I came to this site to see if I snorted a hydromorphone what could I excpect. well i snorted one and the pain went away much faster (NO HIGH) than swallowing the pill, but now my nose has that stuff in it and im swallowing the taste, ill stick to taking my pills as prescribed, at least i know now.

I have done all the drugs been there and back, done em all sorts of ways. The person who warns of death is right, how can any sane person argue that? But also remember this its a good thing to hear that someone has done something you are about to do and didnt die. The government drugs are worse than the street drugs dont let em fool ya.

It is amazing how people can do this because I would be very scared. Dilaudid never did anything for my pain. I was just taking it because I ran out of oxy's. I did snort once and I was so scared that I never tried it again, besides they never did anything and it was 4 MG. Now the oxy is used to my blood so it is not helping like it used to.

No matter what it is, when snorted any narcatic pill will give you the over all same feeling. Yes dilaudid is a lot like oxy's but very unsafe. I had a friend who thought snorting a lower dose dilaudid would help him to get off the pills unfortunatly he is no longer with us. Any sort of oxy, dilaudid, morphene etc. is dangerous and I wish all the suffering addicts the best of luck with cleaning up. If I can do it anyone can.

i have a heart condition... 9 mi's in last 10 years + 13 stents. i developed an allergy 2 morphine about 7 years ago.. hence my addiction 2 iv dilaudid began... i'll go 2 the er complaining of chest pains knowing they'll give me iv dilaudid... as long as i havent been there that often... i have 2 travel alot in order 2 do this... i live in so. cal.. bt im in south florida now... it amaze even me how sick i am with this s***. when a sharp doctor catches on & wont give me any more dilaudid.. i call him or her a butcher...sick

Being on oxy's is like being snowed in and trying to get your car out while it's still snowing. No matter how much you dig, your still stuck and can't get out. Finding another pill is just like getting more snow. You just have to dig more, to get more stuck. For all of those who think pills are some fun and games, ny neighbor's sister in law just died from an oxy od. Yeah, it was REAL fun at the funeral. Stop trying to be cool. If you have legit pain, take your meds like your life depends on them. It does.

You all are feeling good about your drugs now but what are yur families feeling? Well let me tell you i am one of those daughters who watched her mom buried last October from morphine and dilludad overdose. Yah she was happy too high on her drugs but me and my brother suffered. My 63 year old mother died and me 42 now without a mom but in reality i have been without her for a long time. It was misserable I spent a long time sad and lonely. She not only died but on my little girls birthday. My dad blambs me for making her sad by staying away most of the time. I could not watch her anymore addicted to her prescription drugs nor did I want to have my children watch that. I blame her the most but it was also the doctors fault for giving her so much while knowing she ran out before the end of the month. Her doctor appoligized and so I forgive him I hope he learns from his mistakes. I also forgive my mom i know she had manic depressin and scitzaphenia but either way she refused to admit she had a problem. Well she is in a better place but she left us here to suffer. I suffer daily wishing she had been better so that I could have a healthy relationship with her. I miss my mom but I have for a long time before she died. If any of you users love your family esspecially your children you will get help. Or one your children will fall into your foot steps in which I tryed that path and now I've been cleen for 22 years because I became a mother, my kids were and are worth me being clean. Or two your kids will abandan you and it would be your own fault. God bless you all may you get help stop using excuses that I'm in pain and need it. Don't get me wrong pain pills are there to be used as Prescribed not snorting or over taking. Good luck to the families and do NOT help your family being a adict. If you ecnor, or enable them you are as much as giving them or killing them yourself. My family suffers but we have GOD and will get through this too.

I hear all of this language and I do not understand it. What is bangging? I take Dialudid for bad back pain. I take 30mgs of Oxy as well. My body built up a tolarance to the oxys which I hate because it really helped me (and the feeling was priceless) so now I take dilaudid for breakthrough pain as well but I get no high feeling from them as I did with the oxy's. I am not going to snort pills for fear of dying and addiction. What would happen if I chewed them??
