Snorting Dilaudid (Page 9)

my freind has an addiction to oxycontin, and now she has dilaudid 4 mg, and she plans on taking it too, b/c one of her freinds said that its like oxycontin and that she would get the same effect. does anyone no if its safe to do so?

Now for the "medical side" it's a pill not to be abused, just taken the way it's RXed!! It's not meant to be shot or snorted. If it was it would be liquid and u will get hypos or they will make a intranasal spray!! Do what ever but use ur heads!!!!

My husband suffers from severe chronic back pain from a 25 year-old 360 degree fusion at L4/S1. He is under the care of a PM Dr and never goes over his Rx dose of Dilaudid. I know he is insulfating the med, but he is doing it secretively. I have told him I don't like him abusing it, that there's no reason other than a sense of deviance, or that he may have some physiological problems from this method. I'd like some feedback on this method's effectiveness and duration of relief. He is Rx'd 4 mg x 4/day and has been sticking to this for about 6 months now. May I relax about his ingestion method?

For those of you that are extremely gung-ho about pills, and think that you know everything about them, and people can eff off if they're saying it's bad... You've got a monster on your back (to put it nicely). I was addicted to Vicodin and oxycodone, and it was a nightmare. I vomited blood frequently, and even though I've been a year clean, I'm STILL paying for the havoc they've reeked on my stomach. They've eaten a hole in my stomach that I have yet to have medically looked at and treated. Constant gerd, rib and abdomen pain, and digestive issues... Just the Sunday school version for ya. So ask yourself, is it worth it? Didn't take long to trash my digestive tract at all. Get help, and if you're not already suffering, you will be soon.

TB - well, some ppl have reported that continually insulfating Dilaudid for a long time can cause breathing problems (such as wheezing, coughing, waking up in the middle of the night unable to breathe, etc), but not any permanent damage. I'd suggest switching to oxycodone, however, the doctor will most likely want to switch to oxycontin (which can't be snorted); and in any case I'm not entirely sure switching medications will prevent any potential breathing problems. So I think you should inform your husband to Insufflate the pills very lightly (to ensure he doesnt inhale a bunch of powder into his lungs) and use a dropper / nasal sprayer filled with water to rinse out his nose as often as possible. Those aren't urgent things you need to tell him, but if the subject ever comes up, he should know.

And if he's insulfating because he likes the rush: the rush certainly doesn't last that long. The high / overall effectiveness won't last as long as it would if he were ingesting them, but since he has 4 pills, I'm sure he gets through the day just fine. Instead of worrying about physical dangers, you should be focused on paying attention to whether or not this gets out of control. I strongly recommend you tell him that he can do it in front of you so that you'll at least know if he's beginning to have a problem (such as doing it too much / too often).

Very very addictive snorting anything.. I could control it b4 then. Now I'm a full blown addict I get up everyday with pain and cols and hot flashes just trying to come up with 30-40$ to get a Roxy or opanna to feel normal. Doesn't even affect me anymore . A few fun weekends turns into a ruined life.

Snorting a dilaudid is a bad idea.. it was told to me by my doctor that a 2mg dilaudid is 9x stronger than a 15mg morphine pill.. I am prescribed roxycodone 30mg an dilaudid is much stronger than them..I know from experience. DO NOT SNORT A DILAUDID AT ALL , WHO EVER TOLD YOU THAT IS A COMPLETE IDIOT AN NEEDS TO LEARN HIS FACTS.. HE COULD GET PEOPLE KILLED GIVING OUT THE WRONG INFO LIKE THAT.. DONT SNORT ANYTHING ,, take it orally

I'm a drug addict, started when the Dr misdiagnosed my medical condition. And was prescribed flasks of liquid codeine. Like all drug addicts, we always look for the best way to get relief. Not proud of it, its what i do...good luck many prayers...

better than sex? I dnt know who uv been with...but I've done almost every drug an haven't found one yet better than sex...now of course there are a few which have made sex more enjoyable. my advice is to find someone better in bed lol

I have been taking dilaududs 4's for quite q while usually around 8 a day. I. Have started sweating profusely when I take them and I haven't read of anyone else having this problem. I will be fine until I take them and then the sweating starts- so it is not a withdrawal thing it's like once the meds get I my system I start the sweating. I would really appreciate anyone's help on this. I would feel great if I wasn't sweating so much-- thank you!

I feel your pain. Trust me. I have so many things wrong with my body its crazy. Im *ALWAYS* in severe cronic pain. They say I will be in a wheelchair by time im 35. Im 28 now and have a 9 yearold son I cant take care of like I used to. Due to my pain. It takes me at least an hour to get out of bed everyday. I have been on the vicodin and tramadol darvacet..u name it. For 7 years. They DO NOT WORK FOR ME ANYMORE and where I live there are so so many junkies its unreal. And I am not addicted I am DEPENDANT theres a difference. I need them to live a normal life. I hate it tho. And it pisses me off that there r so many people who use just to get high. It screws ppl like me over when their docs say yea u have this and that and yes its very painful but still prescribes the same s*** year after year. Dam its frustrating

My 26 yr old daughter became ADDICTED TO OXY. FIRST ORALLY, THEN SNORTING THEN SHOOTING. In may she will be gone for a year now. Died from a "unintentional" overdose of oxycotin and liquid morphine. I pass no judgement. She was beautiful, brilliant and sick...an addict. /her daughter will never know her mother, and my heart will never heal. I paint on a smile and simply exist. I hope with all my heart that any of you hurting on this post find at least one person to help you and care. Blessings to all of you.

SERIOUSLY!!!??? messed up crazy world we live in...it is funny how many of u the pharmaceutical companies have consumed...its even funnier that they have succeeded in turning people into complete morons without even having to try!!! you do realize that is all they want is control over u??? and man they r good!!
unfortunately I have to take these disgusting pills to relieve me of serious pain almost everyday.. I have been on and off of both oxys and D and have never had a hard time stopping when my pain goes away...they make me feel like a zombie its gross....thank god I suppose going by most of the comments on here....
the more addicts the more money but that is not even the highest reason for mass distribution of narcotic pain killers IT IS TO F%@# ur brains so to make u less competent less rich and more loser u see it keeps them sitting on top and leaves all of u bagging and in their eyes useless... GOOD on u for giving ur one life away to the corporate corruptions .... puppets on a string...so sad....

I have dealt with pain for a long time, but can hardly get my doctor to give me codeine even when pain is bad. How the heck do you guys find a doc to get you a proper amount to take.... :-(
