I recently have been introduced to them. I'm not an ex addict or anything but enjoy it every now and again. The pill game is one to watch though. I started taking 1-4mg D than the next day had to do 8 to feel it. 2 days later after not doing I had to do 12mg at once. Be careful it can consume you. Every now and again maybe bit don't let it be the first thought you have waking up or end of work. Btw I'm 20 6'1 195 lbs. Have fun in life but be smart.. *common sense (cents lol)*

religious people dont need to put there 2 pence in. leave people alone they have no clue what we all go through over opiate based medications - doesnt even know the bible allows all drugs which grow to be used and that must include the poppy so to any religious fool criticizing a drug user please leave the page and go on to one about how christians are the best and the roman catholic church is the force of all good well apart from the rape of children and religion is definitely more dangerous than drugs

was taking appox 4mg x 6-8 times a day, for months. suffer extreme pain and am on my way to a bush cabin to detox. NO EASY TASK, WORSE i HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING MORE AND MORE SICKNESS (EG VOMITING DAILY- OFTEN FOR HOURS AT A TIME) SUICIDAL IDEATION NOT THAT UNCOMMON - VERY FREQUUENT ACTUALLY - AND THIS FROM A PERSON WHO HAS BEEN ON HEAVY NARCOTICS FOR ABOUT TWO YEARS NOW. LOSE THE DILAUDID AND -IF ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY - SWITCH TO A SLOW RELEASE PAINKILLER, AS CRUSHING AND SNORTING JUST TOO STUPID. THE SLOW RELEASE VERSION OF OXYCONTIN( OXYNEO) WORKS AWESOMELY, IF YOU NEED TO KILL PAIN. IF YOU JUST WANT TO KILL SOME BRAIN CELLS, HIT YOURSELF REPEATEDLY WITH A HAMMER.

Yeah I've been on all the pain meds oxyccontin 40 mg times four a day and 5mg times ten a day,,,,m I'm on 30 mgs times two a day plus four oxy5mgs plus ten dillys a day and I still feel pain, but good pain,,,I've been walking swimming etcs ,,but I've taken both oxy5 times ten,, but the dilaudid was the best for me. You become used to it to fast,,,and this depends on your weight and life style if you are doing it for recreation. if you are prescribed 40 mgs a day never take 5 a day,' your tolerance will be gone in three weeks if you do more.

ive been a addict of opiates for years, it started with vicodin and percocets and over the years it turned into morphine, oxycontin, dilaudids and opana. in my opinion the best pain relief is from the 30mg instant release oxycodone.

Dearest Breeia,
Please forgive me, to say I've been in a serious decline is a hug understatement my dear friend. My pain is unbearable and spent another 6 weeks in the hospital w/2 additional surgeries that have left me too weak to do much for myself anymore. I feel the end is near, I am really trying but it's hard to keep going when they are doing all they can for me outpatient and I just don't want to be gorked out on IV pain meds in a hospital for even just another day. I'm ready, when the time comes, I will surrender, I've said my goodbyes, the hardest to my children but they need to have a life w/o a mother who is in their den in a rented hospital bed dependent of others for everything. The sad part is, I know everybody is tiring of caring for me and there will be a sense of relief when I pass. That hurts terribly to think about but I'm tired of being bedridden and living a life w/o any quality left. Thank you for sticking by me for so long. You'll never know what your encouragement and support has meant. Thank you my dear, sweet, selfless Breeia and one day we'll meet where there is no pain or disease. I'll try to write, but if I can't please know I am eternally grateful to you and many others for their kindness long the way. I just pray dying doesn't hurt as much as I do now. Love ya lady, Brynn

Yes Texas does NOT approve of cannabis, not in it's natural form that is but you needn't avoid pain management to continue. It's not ideal but it works, so if you are in it for the increased appetite and relief of depression (and I think it helps w/pain too), there is a medicinal form called Marinol and insurance will cover it (your doctor would likely have to request coverage for you), but just the severe weight loss should be reason enough. Go to a reputable Pain Mgmt. doctor, they do not judge and will work with you to find the solution that helps you. There are some freaks out there so do your research & if you respond to where you are located, I capsule possibly be of help in recommendations. Check out if you have nerve damage, consult w/a GI, don't stop b/c know one will fight for you better than you will, it's the times we live in. Hang in there, I'm just so sorry you are going thru this & feel you can't turn to pain management. Hope this helps, sending you good wishes and of course LESS PAIN, Brynn

I just abused dilaudid for the first time about 5 minutes ago. I am 28, female, 135 lbs. I had been taking heroine off and on for about two years with many come downs and withdrawals when a concerned friend offered me suboxone. I have been taking that for a few weeks but ran out. I took the last one exactly 52 hours ago. I began to feel the withdrawal from the suboxone last night (about 30 hours after my last sub) and I had a dilaudid that I'd been saving for this kind of occasion. I know that it takes about 72 hours after taking suboxone for a diluadid to have full effect, but I really couldn't wait any longer. Not sure if I'm even going to feel anything, but I'm not dead. But I don't feel any effect yet.

i am a former MM patient and I can tell you you're wasting your time. When/ if you're ready to get off you'll be twice as sick for twice as long as you wouldve before you started. Ive watched good friends suffer a yr after coming off of a stable dose properly. Youre better off weening yourself off of something small. Dont believe the lies they feed you.

Dearest Breeia,
I don't know why or how but another remission has been sent my way. However my life is very limited, I am much weaker this go around and the pain is simply terrible. The IV pain meds have destroyed my tolerance and what I need to have manageable pain leaves me too exhausted and unfocused to do much of anything. I don't yet know if I have recovered from the multiple surgeries and infections, no doctor can tell me. I am now on Fentanyl patches, can ANYONE out there PLEASE, PLEASE tell me what their experience is w/these? I feel so tired all of the time but they work (I didn't realize a patch had come off and was stuck to the inside of my nightgown and had to go to the ER), a bit embarrassing but the doctor was really nice and said it happens a lot (does it really for others b/c it's happened many times, I only know when it's too late). I now have extra patches to use when this happens AND now I tape them down extra but then I lose track of the number of days! I also have fairly fast acting break through medication, but I want to reduce hoping the profound sedation/fatigue I feel will lift a bit. I can't tell if it's disease or medication related and of course the doctors don't know either although they suspect it's a little of both. I am going to try and drop down, w/doctor's supervision but so far the first drop has brought severe clammy feelings, sweating, racing heart, I guess feelings of withdrawal. How long could this last? Anyone w/experience I really need to know how fast I can get from 100 mcg to 50 mcg w/o such misery. I'd rather feel SOME pain but be more alert. Good news is, my children and husband were beyond thrilled by my remission, I could really tell it was sincere. I needed to feel that I wasn't the burden I had previously felt. It is horrible what depression and pain can do to one's mind and I wish all of you on this board, regardless why you use these medications, realize just how bad they can affect your psyche. If you can drop down, do it, if you use to get "high" I hope you find a safe way out before it's too late as I would give anything to not feel the withdrawal I feel - and I don't think these feelings (physical & emotional) care why you take these medications to begin with - just choosing the the lesser of the two evils I suppose. Breeia, thank you my friend, it looks like I get to see another year, who knows, maybe they will find more answers. Sending you hugs now and always! <3

{edited for safety} There both potentatiors and will allow you to cut your dose in half and itll last twice as long also helps with the anxiety you have when cutting your dose and worrying about the withdrawls. Also your getting tired all of the time from the drugs thats how they work for some people all they can do is sleep.

To "High Tolerance", I am thinking you sent this info. for me (Brynn), I have actually been told by my doctor that Phenergan is used both for control of nausea AND a good side benefit is it makes the Fentanyl more effective (last longer and at most potential) but it makes me tired too! Forgive me for asking but why Advil, a I wouldn't think the pain relieving properties would be all that great, comparatively that is. Funny on the grapefruit juice, I LOVE it anyway but so e of my meds SPECIFICALLY state not to take w/grapefruit juice, that it affects the absorption of many medications so where it might (I really don't know, if someone out there knows the deal on grapefruit juice on RXs)increase the Fentanyl, there are many of us PM patients that have disease processes and are on other prescription medications, NOT solely pain meds. The Tagamet is actually a great suggestion, my pharmacist says it's safe to change from Pepcid to Tagamet (Cimetidine) and a side benefit can be the same as Phenergan minus the sedation. I just ALWAYS thought that the body adjusts to the sedation effects of these meds after a few weeks, esp. a few months, but I really think this Fentanyl is making me very tired. I've dropped down doses, but the pain increases a lot, but at least I'm awake. Wish it weren't one or the other. For those of you that write of Dilaudid, I personally found it to be an AWFUL oral pain reliever and I have been told by so many other PM patients that crushing and using in ANY other format will destroy your tolerance overnight and when you need it, it will NOT WORK, in fact it will affect other pain medications and you want to protect your tolerance like nobody's business. I don't care what anybody tells you, once your tolerance increases, it never comes down (maybe for a short time, but never for the long-term). No "medication vacation" will ever work, for some reason our brains are forever altered in how they process pain and pain relief. If you take medication for recreational purposes, I am told you suffer w/this issue much more. I NEVER planned on becoming severely ill, I worry for those of you that don't realize how bad pain can be when you get cancer or other painful diseases. UNBEARABLE and you are NOT invincible, I am not "old", have been sick, really sick since my 20's, I am just so glad I do not have an addictive personality, if I did, I would be in hospice I have no doubt. Please be mindful w/these medications, all of them destroy your tolerance at some point regardless of your reasons for taking them but Dilaudid will do it 100 times faster and for what, how long could the "high" last when for pain relief the oral meds are well known to be lousy pain relievers (I have ZERO experience w/illicit drug use, I don't know anything about heroin or cocaine to those of you that factor those in, I can only imagine as I believe OxyContin is considered the prescription sister to heroin). I suppose if drug abuse were rational, many of you wouldn't do I, but if this makes one person stop and think, it's worth the time I've spent here - tolerance is not discussed enough in pain management! BE WELL!

{edited for safety} I say this so that you would be able to cut down the amount and frequency that you take your medication. The advil is added in as more of a euphoria enhancer it keeps me more alert and awake while I am on high doses of medication. I wish you the best and hope that you can get off the pain meds. As it took me a long time to realize that the pain meds made my pain dramatically worse and more drawn out. Not to mention the fact that I would be more active while on the pain meds therefore causing more damage and pain in the future. Medical marijuana is the only medication I have found that helps with the pain and causes no dependency on the substance and no future pain related to the medication. If you plan on taking opiates for the long term I would suggest opana or methadone as I found that the best long term alternative and my number one choice for pain relief has hands down been methadone.

I appreciate your input, I am looking at trying the Opana, that was apparently a reasonable suggestion, doctor not so thrilled by the methadone idea (honestly that scares me a bit, I suppose it's something I associate w/clinics...). Since marijuana is not legal in my state, I really am not sure what a true pain relieving type would do or feel like, the pharmaceutical is terribly sedating and I couldn't imagine getting a whole lot done. I do year of it's value but it's just not available even if I wanted to risk it. I have been dropping down my Fentanyl dosing quite successfully, I keep waiting for horrible w/d affects (the usual malaise, clamminess, etc.) but dropping every 3-6 days, holding now at 37 mcg, more issues w/pain, such a tough choice to have to make :(. Appreciate your taking the time to help me with the benefit of your experience. As my doctor says, given my prognosis, I need to focus on the right balance of comfort and side effects as I have a tendency to get "behind the pain" and I'm not looking at a long horizon. I think there's just always going to be that side of me that will refuse to give in :)! Be well.

PILLS ----- I destroy homes, tear families apart, take your children, and that's just the start. I'm more costly than diamonds, more costly than gold, the sorrow I bring is a sight to behold, and if u need me, remember I'm easily found. I live all around you, in schools and in town. I live with the rich, I live with the poor, I live down the street, and maybe next door. My power is awesome; try me.................. you'll see, but if you do, you may never break free. Just try me once and I might let you go, but try me twice, and I'll own your soul. When I possess you, you'll steal and you'll lie. You do what you have to just to feel high. The crimes you'll commit, for my narcotic charms will be worth the pleasure you'll feel in your arms. You'll lie to your mother; you'll steal from your dad When you see their tears, you should feel sad. But you'll forget your morals and how you were raised, I'll be your conscience, I'll teach you my ways. I take kids from parents, and parents from kids, I turn people from god, and separate from friends. I'll take everything from you, your looks and your pride, I'll be with you always, right by your side. You'll give up everything your family, your home, your friends, your money, then you'll be alone. I'll take and take, till you have nothing more to give. When I'm finished with you you'll be lucky to live. If you try me be warned this is no game. If given the chance, I'll drive you insane. I'll ravish your body; I'll control your mind. I'll own you completely; your soul will be mine. The nightmares I'll give you while lying in bed, the voices you'll hear from inside your head, the sweats, the shakes, the visions you'll see; I want you to know, these are all gifts from me, But then it's too late, and you'll know in your heart, that you are mine, and we shall not part. You'll regret that you tried me, they always do, but you came to me, not I to you. You knew this would happen. Many times you were told, but you challenged my power, and chose to be bold. You could have said no, and just walked away, If you could live that day over, now what would you say? I'll be your master; you will be my slave, I'll even go with you, when you go to your grave. Now that you have met me , what will you do? Will you try me or not? Its all up to you. I can bring you more misery than words can tell. Come take my hand, let me lead you to hell... Repost this and you could save a pill taker and his or her life.
