Skipping/delaying Period

I've been on loestrin 24fe since the beginning of September. My pill did not get delivered on time so I took it a week late since I am a Sunday starter. I just got my period and have one brown pill left for tomorrow and next time I am due for my period (July 12) I do not want it then because I have something on the 13th and the second day is always my heaviest. What should I do to not get my period then? Should I wait a week to take my white pills like what happened last month or just skip my brown pills next month and start a new pack? By the way I have never had a problem with my pill and even after having to restart my period came right on time as it usually does.

Hi, Allison!

To skip your period and still be protected against pregnancy, you'd need to continue taking the active pills and just skip the placebo tablets that you'd normally take during the week of your period.

However, you should only do this if it is safe for you to do so, according to your doctor.

There is also a chance that you may get your period anyway, or may experience some breakthrough bleeding.
