Single Father Needs Help On New Style & Pain

i was a carpenter & fell 3 stories in 94 have been a single dad & in whchair.i suffer chronic lower back pain.i must have a high tolerance to meds unless got a high as they say at very begging as i feel nothing accept knocking off edge of pain.i'm on 40mgs of opanna 4xday & also 40mgs of oxycottin 4xday.i take 1 of each every 3 hrs as found out either lasted 8hrs. & my pain level gets gradually worst as day goes by & my morning r the worst unless im out of bed by 6.if i sleep till 9 as it is summer vocation it is miserable as i moan & feel as if need to be in hosptol it hurts so bad.i start daily gettin in jet tub & meditating for an hr.i guess been fortunate with bowel program but when got new opanna could not go for 11/2wk until was being force out last 4 days.hoping this will stop & only new change.my son is 16 & will grad.in couple yrs.i always have smile on face hide pain well acpt. mornings we liv in country hunt fish ect & luv being FT dad.but he will b leaving 4 colge & would luv to work,no1 would hire with daily rotine having to lay down @times & painlevel still between 6/7.hav had painpump shots in back with no prevail.not a abuser TG pharmacy knows me as so embarass when fill Dr.make me feel no better &blame the junkies.but son is my life & why i go on, am Catholic hav nowayout.dont wish this pain on no1.even tho do alot hav miss so much game of pig cuz laying down ect.my quality of life is terrible,hav trid diff. painmgts.i would as told Dr. rather 5 good yrs of life with son then 15 slow agonizing 1s.CAN ANY1 HELP me with any info.have been on oxycottin since fell.have deteriating disc were i always pointed to pain.if ANY1 knows better meds. & if any1else constipated from as never happen to when was on oringinals. ANYTHING WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE Thank you J & im sorry for those in pain & dont get help thanks to junkies & may say why am i complaing , all i can say is my pain is that bad & seems to b getting worst.i also am BWC & hav had same pharmacy & take as directed.i pray for all in pain & dont get to make church weekly.

Have you tried Fentanyl? It is a very potent narcotic that's available as a time released patch.

Being in constant pain at that level is miserable and I am a FT Mom and had to leave work for similar reasons and my son leaves next year and I feel very scared too. I too have to lay down a lot and I think we have to accept our limitations b/c we add a lot of misery to our plate by not accepting we aren't like others. Maybe you can find somewhere where you could work 3 hour shifts just to feel productive, like Walmart is great about hiring greeters and a lot of them are disabled and they are required to hire disabled people when they can so try that. As far as your pain, yes I think the other poster gave you a great option, Fentanyl is stronger and it's a patch you wear for 3 days but it rarely works more than 2 so be aware of that. You need to be VERY honest with your PM doc, you should be on a bowel program to prevent constipation, you should be taking something everyday like Colace, tell you doc. I think if you are honest about how miserable you are, he will help you. You need to consider meds for your depression, most pain patients take antidepressants b/c being in pain all of the time is depressing and somehow it helps with the pain. Also, try and locate a support group, go to church, you need to make some supportive friends. I wish you good luck and hope you will really talk to your doctor, you shouldn't be alone with all of this.
