Concor-AM contains the active ingredients Amlodipine and Bisoprolol, it is most commonly used to help treat high blood pressure.

The most common side effects may include: nausea, dizziness, stomach pain and headache.

As to sexual side effects, yes, this class of medications is well known for causing a loss of libido, longer ejaculation times and erectile dysfunction.

If the problems become severe, you should speak to your doctor about trying a different medication.

However, these effects are really miniscule compared to the ill health effects of letting your blood pressure be uncontrolled.

Abhilash, both of the medications you mentioned are used to help lower and control high blood pressure and with numbers that high, you have to do something to bring it down, you're getting into very dangerous territory. High blood pressure like that creates the very real risk of Congestive Heart Failure or stroke.

The regular Concor contains Bisoprolol and the Amlogard contains Amlodipine.

They may cause some side effects, such as: nausea, dizziness, headache and dry cough.

After medication as mentioned in my previous mail, my BP normally stays at 85/120. Can I stay with this dosage of concor-10+amlodipine-10 daily once a day comfortably? I am 56 years old.

Abhilash, that is really something that only you and your doctor can determine with time. Your body does eventually get used to anything you take on a regular basis and this can cause it to become less effective.

This means that in the future, you may require a dosage adjustment, or a switch to different medications.

As long as your blood pressure is staying around those levels, there shouldn't be a problem and your current dose should be fine. However, if you start to show any symptoms of it going high or low, such as headache, nausea and dizziness, make sure you contact your doctor immediately.

Are there any other questions?

yes, the bp does stay to these levels with a variation of 5 points here or there normally. the dosage has recently been adjusted and does keep me in good shape. The concern, at this point of time , in my mind is that it does not have any significant side-effect though my family doctor says that these medications are nong term therapies and do not effect the health in very big ways. any comments please?

I am 50 years old. Suffering from cervical of the neck for last two years. My neck aches a lot and the pain comes from the back of the neck towards the forehead. Off late my head has started shaking involuntarily and rather violently at times. Can you suggest some medicine to cure/relieve this.

Abhilash, there are always risks associated with using any medication long-term, they are very rare, but in some people they may cause some stomach damage, or damage to other organs, such as the liver.

The reason your doctor is trying to reassure you, however, is more than likely due to the fact that the risks to your health are far greater, if you don't take the medications you need and keep your blood pressure under control.

Many people take these types of medications for years and they have no problems, because as I said they are very rare. However, if you don't take the medication, then suffering health issues is not rare and there is a really high chance of suffering from a stroke or congestive heart failure.

And Mukta, I am sorry, but this is an information only website, this site does not diagnose or treat any conditions.

Have you seen a doctor for this?

I have consulted a doctor about it. In addition to prescribing a few pain killers he has also advised to wear a cervical collar around my neck which i am afraid i may have to wear for the rest of my life. I was wondering if there are some exercises which done regularly over a long period of time could come to my rescue. Could you suggest some to get me rid of this ailment and save me from the side effects of pain killers and other drugs.
Thanks

What about the side effect of concor am 5 on the libido in the female life?

Hi I’m a 21 years old female and 2 years ago I was hospitalized and diagnosed with a sinus tachycardia and put on coreg and ramipri for a few months. I made a full recovery and stopped taking all the meds .A week ago I visited my doctor for a routine check up and he has told me that the tachycardia has returned and has now put me on Concor 5mg for a 5 month trial. He has been doing extensive research to figure out why I have this condition since I don’t smoke, drink etc.

My doctor had previously advised me not to become sexually active and again warned me from even getting pregnant. . Im a second year business student and I work and attend school simultaneously and my doctor thinks the pressure and stress of that brought back my tachycardia. I have been getting mild headaches and dizziness since I started it and for the past few months, I have not had any sexual urges. Is that normal for my age? Will I be able to live/ have a normal life and get married and have a family or will this heart condition destroy/control my life?

Im scared that this condition will prevent me from being my true active self, since my family and friends says im pushing my body to much and not taking it serious, but im only trying to remain optimistic and sane myself. I am very petite, attractive but I shy away from guys/relationships because at first I was just to busy but now II don’t want to be pitied. I just want to have a normal life.

Your opinion would be greatly appreciated.

I am using this medicine 5mg concor since 2000 when I was 31 years old. Nothing has gone wrong to me. I had same problem like you (Techycardia). If your doctor ha advise you then do not stop it untill he advise you to stop. No need of getting worried about it because it is not a heavey dose. Secondly there is a natural remedy also available. Get grains of Barley and cook 10Grams daily in 1 glass (250ML 0r more) or more water until these become soft like paste. Add sugar or any other sweetner. Use as breakfast till 3 months regularly. I hope your will become ok after 3 months. However you may continue untill you want because it is a good diet and has no side effects. But keep in mind that utill you become perfectly alright medically you should not stop taking doctor's advised pills.

First you have to think positive and don't think that you have any desease ...if some one is saying you any thing regarding your health so you don't take it serious you just keep thinking positive and get enjoy your life you are normal and just divert your mind to any other side because you mind is very disturb due to others points of view ..
Keep exercise early morning and eat fruits and take multivitamin medicines once a day for one month .try to ignore peoples advised who are make you disturbed
