i am Asha. I have been prescribed amifru 40 tablets for 3days (Alternate) for removing excess water retention in my body as I am on a heavy side. Does this tablet have any side effects. I am been told that whatever you lose will be regain almost immediately.

Amifru contains the active ingredients Furosemide and Amiloride, they are both diuretics that are used to remove excess fluid from the body.

Rammohan, that's why you're experiencing the excess urination at night, this medication is supposed to increase urinary output.

What time do you take it?


And Asha, if you don't also make some lifestyle changes, then yes that may be true. If you take in a lot of fluids and/or sodium/salt, then the water weight will just return.

Hi! I suffer from water retention every now and then, at least 4 out of 7 days a week. My weight is 62 and I have nt been taking cooked food for dinner almost 6 months now. My doc advised me to take Ambifru 40 once daily, whenever any fluid retention happens. I have no medical history or problems. All my medical tests are normal .Hence I ve been advised to treat it symptomatically. Is it safe to take this medicine and at what frequency? Does it affect the kidneys?
