Side Effect Of Trapic Tablet

I am a 40yr old housewife,having two kids.I have been experiencing extreme pain before and during my period.Was subscribed trapic(tranexamic acid)500mg to be taken on the 2nd,3rd n 4th day of my period.Was told to do this for 6months.I hve got my ultrasound test done 6 months back and it indicated a bulky uterus.Rest all was fine.Even yhe pap smear was normal.I would like to know till how long should i continue with this tablet.The pain is still persistant during my period and i get heavy flow with some clots during the 2nd,3rd and4th day.My cycle is usually for 30+4-5 days up every month and the bleeding lasts for 6-7 days.Should i also take iron supplements?

i am 41yr old housewife,having 5kids.i have got my ultrasound test done and it indicated a bulky uterus 100mm*55mm.rest all was fine.i get heavy flow with some clots during 2nd and 3rd day.my cycle usually was regular and the bleeding lasts for 6days.the doctor prescribed me tranexa 500mg 3times a day for1st,2nd,3rd,4th,and 5th,day of my period.and was told todo this for 6 month.is there any side effect for this tablet.should i start this?
