My dad has dementia/Alzheimer's and it's very problematic to get him to take his meds. Does Seroquel and Ativan come in liquid form? ## The Ativan does, but not the Seroquel. What I'd suggest doing is speaking to his doctor about it, to discuss the problem and see what alternative medications can be prescribed that are in liquid form, or perhaps injectable. There are quite a few options available, so they shouldn't have a problem helping you and, if you have to learn to give him a shot, it is pretty simple and the doctor or a nurse can teach you to do so in just a few minutes. Is there anything else I can help with? Learn more Ativan details here. ## Guys stay away from drugs, one time use can effect your life it is not good stay away from any drugs ## Seroquel does come...

Is anyone else experiencing weight gain from seroquel? I still work out the same as always, and eat the same way, but I have gained over 20 pounds since i started seroquel 2 months ago. I dont want to stop taking it becasue i finally found a drug that helps, but this is an unacceptable side effect to me, anyone have any tips for dealing with this? ## Tell your doctor he might be able to help. ## I have been taking seroquel for about six months now and I have actually lost 16lbs. I take a dose of 400mg a day and have not hadd any problems. I have not even changed my diet or my exercise habits (which aren't the best). I do not have any side effects maybe it is a combination of the seroquel and other medicines you are taking? Seroquel actually began as a medicine given after surgery as...

I take 300 mg a day and it takes 4-5 weeks to clear out of your system. ## The half-life of Seroquel, which contains the active ingredient Quetiapine is roughly 6 hours and, in general, it takes 5 to 6 half-lives to clear out of your body, so the actual clearance time would be only 30 to 36 hours. It can take 4 weeks, or so, for your body to adjust to not having it and return to normal, but it doesn't take that long to actually clear the drug from your body. Are there any other questions or comments? ## Quitiapine Fumarate 50 mg, how long does it take to clear for a drug test. It's only used to get a deep sleep and my husband has a rx, I plan to ask my doctor for it next time I see her But in case I go to test for this new job I'd like to know. And do they even look for this...

Hi. I’m on seroquel, gabapentin, methylphenidate, klonopin, and lithium. I had surgery. Had filled out all the meds I take. After surgery I was on norco for 4 or 5 days. Still hurting and severely inflamed. I called the surgeons office. He gave me Tramadol 50 mg every 4 hours and ibuprofen. After about 4 days I started having tremors. Face and neck twisting stretching kind of thing. My left thigh is still numb and leg was very heavy. Also constant clearing my throat and non stop humming or singing or just making grunting noises. I called the pharmacy the next day as I was so wired and shaking I could barely stand up. Obviously they said stop immediately. I also quit the lithium. Now the shaking has gone away some But still clearing throat constantly and humming. It’s driving...

I was taking 100 MG of Prestiq, 300 MG of Seroquel, and 150 MG of Wellbutrin. I slowly whinned myself off of everything, but the Prestiq. I lowered my dose from 100 to 50 mg's, and stayed on that for 2 weeks. I quit taking the 50 mg's of Prestiq on Sunday. I am having withdrawl side effects. The side effects include extreme nausea, headache, throbbing in my head and ears, dizziness, vomiting, irratability, and I snap at the least littlest thing. I feel like I have no control over my emotions. Has anyone went through this before? How long will the side effects last? ## I didn't do it with Pristiq, but yes, I did stop taking 100mgs of Zoloft, cold turkey. Pristiq is an SSNRI antidepressant, since this affects the chemical balance in your brain, it can be as hard to get off of ...

I found this in with my step daughter's stuff. Any ideas on what this is? It's a white round pill. 50 on one side, and some design on the back.... but I only have half a pill. Thanks in advance! I JUST TRIED TO ATTACH A PICTURE, BUT DONT SEE ANY AREA WHERE I CAN ATTACH A PICTURE!? ## This pill may be a Seroquel (Quitiapine) 50 mg dose, as it has many variations that being one. However remembet frequently other parts of the pill that make ID easier are erased to make people purchase fake or fraudulent medications IF that is the case. This is a mystery one, but Quitiapine is an A-typical Antipsychotic, with significant sedative effects, used to treat many psychiatric disorders and can be abused and sold as other medications. Sorry it’s a mystery pill it seems, I’m gues...

I think I'm having a bad side effect. Like hitters and really bad anxiety. Need help. Please. I'm on 50mg of seroquel and 280 mg methadone daily. ## Hello, Peter! How are you doing? Some caution does need to be taken, when taking these medications together, because they can increase the toxicity of each other, so that could be what's causing your problem. Have you consulted your doctor? You may need them to make a dosage adjustment. ## I am on 101mg of methadone (9yrs) and just got prescribed elival for sleep. Will the elival put me in methadone withdrawal ??? ## You need to get off of seroquel right now, and educate yourself. Combining a tranquilizer strong enough to kill a lion, with methadone? I need to know if this is a Seroquel or not? It's oblong, kind of orange and brown with AB1 on it. ## Yes, it is a generic 50mg Quetiapine tablet manufactured by Accord Healthcare. NDC code: 16729-0132 The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, mood changes, and weight changes. It can be normal to receive different tablets from your pharmacy, from time to time, depending on who was offering the cheapest price, at the time they had to restock their supply. Are there any other questions?

I had been on a lot of opioid medication for several years and Seroquel at night for sleep. Two years ago I got off the pain meds but continued the Seroquel. Over the course of a couple of of months I developed worsening involuntary twitching and jerking of my legs at night. One afternoon I sat down to pay some bills and couldn’t even see right or sit still. I went to ER and they gave me some Ativan which put me back to normal for a few hours. The same symptoms continued. I looked back thru my daily journal and figured out the twitching and jerking started about 30 min after I took the Seroquel at night. I stopped the Seroquel for 6 nights and the movements went away. I took it on the 7th nite and it all came back with a vengeance. I stopped the Seroquel and have not had the probl...

NO Seroquel does NOT show up on a drug test. Seroquel is usually not tested for unless specifically asked for which is highly unlikely and if you are getting a positive result on a drug test you might want to make sure that its actually seroquel and not something else. ## How long (days) stopping seroquil until it doesn't register if tested for? ## Yes Seroquel or as stated on my bottle Quetiapine will show as a false positive for tricyclic antidepressants. I take 50 mg twice a day, a low dose, today I took my normal morning meds and popped positive for tricyclic antidepressants this afternoon. This is not something that is normally tested for on a drug screening such as work or your P.O. My test was urine tested by a lab and was run twice with the same result, my test was more in d...

I am taking many medications at this time, due to having five major surgeries, in the last 7 months. I know what all the others are for, but for some reason, even my pharmacist couldn't tell me what it was. I need to know what it's for, before using it. I take many prescribed pills, that are not taken for the reason they were meant for. I take Seroquel, but it's to help me sleep. I also take Mirtazapine, also to help me sleep. I have Amerge pills for my migraines, I also take Lipitor for my for cholesterol, Ativan 2 mg. to help me sleep, Percocets and Demerol for my pain, and Prevacid Fastabs 30 mg. I also take Lasix, but I take it for my blood pressure. I would like to know what this medication is, and what it's prescribed for, before taking it. Thank-you so much for yo...

i take 300 mgof seriquel and also clanopen so should i worry about parole im percribed the clanopen ## It is not necessary to worry about any medication that you were prescribed as long as you have a copy of your prescription in hand or the ability to contact your doctor regarding the prescription. However, regarding Seroquel: It actually can show a false positive for TCA (Tricyclic Antidepressents), if you are tested for that. It is not a TCA but based on my research it often tests positive for it. It is not an illegal drug, but if you are getting screened for all drugs, yes it can show up on a drug test. I hope this information helps! ## I go to flacra and I take vicodine, lyrica , celexa and clonipin but the urine tests are coming up as dilation? ## I take 200mg of seraquel a day. Iv...

I'm seeing my pain doctor and psychiatrist this week to get on a proper pain regimen for debilitating fibromyalgia, severe insomnia with central sleep apnea, PTSD/anxiety from significant abuse I'm working through, chronic daily headaches (advanced migraines), and chronic pain from multiple surgeries (pelvic, back, neck...) Because my doctors don't collaborate I need to suggest options to them. I am sensitive to many medications and have tried a lot over the years. I want my life back. I'm smart and resourceful and at my wits end. I'm on low dose Seroquel for sleep - too much daytime sedation, as Ambien and Trazodone don't work. I'm also on Tramadol, Ativan and Skelaxin during the day. I can't drive, work or function well on this plan. Amitriptyline cause...

Medical aid wants me to change chronic meds. I'm bipolar and are on Lamitor 300mg, Dopaquel 200mg and Venlor 225mg. They want me to use in their words a "cheaper" medicine like seroquel instead of Venlor despite motivational letters from my psyhiatrist. He is after all the treating specialist that walked a long way with me in getting the right combination that works. I have been on many different ones until I settled with these meds. They refuse to pay for the venlor even though i use the generic efegen. I'm already on Dopaquel which is the same as the Seroquel, in other words it would be a duplication. I don't think this is fair it is after all a PMB condition. Will it have the same effect if I change the meds. I don't want to but would like to know if somebody h...

Hi all, just noticed how many forum posts there are, from 'insomniacs' who have been prescribed antipsychotics like seroquel for sleep issues. Personally, I take a fair amount of medications for my bag of issues also, but just wanted to write something in the hopes it helps someone else.. Melatonin is the thing that makes the tired feeling, the yawn, the nap on the couch, the wake up tired and want to sleep more stuff sort of.. You can run out, deplete, have none, start with none, have a very limited internal supply that dwindles every day... Having always been a 'bad sleeper', I just assumed I didn't need much sleep like everyone ewe I knew..I worked hard and long hours and tired was never an issue.. I'd get exhausted physically and emotionally, mentally feel li...

Which is more apt to cause weight gain, Seroquel (400mg) or Trintellix (10mg)? ## Hi Heather, Because everyone's body reacts and responds differently to each and every medication, there is no way to know ahead of time how your body will respond. The only way to find out is to take each medication for a specific period of time through trial and error. However - NIH.gov does list "weight gain" specifically as a side effect of Seroquel; whilst they list nothing of that sort under Trintellix (vortioxetine). So if I had to guess, Seroquel may be more likely to cause weight gain based off this information alone. I hope this helps!

Anyone out know about cymbalta? I've just been put on it a week ago. I was suicidal, not now. They just took me off prozac and put me on cymbalta. Good luck. ## This post is from a long time ago so I am not sure if you will receive the message or not. I am getting ready to stop Cymbalta after a bit over 4 yrs on it. It's so horrid. I know it will be awful coming off, but you have to taper off. It may take a year or more. Something they never told doctors or patients in the past. They lied.
