I had to take a drug screen for pre-employment and it came back with a preliminary positive for Tricyclic Antidepressants. I do take citalipram, but this does not fit into that class of drugs. Is there anything else, perhaps an over the counter medication, that might cause a false positive. I have been taking cold medication for a sinus problems, and I also take Unisom at night. ## Not that I am aware of, this actually doesn't even make sense, because traditional drug screens do not test for these types of medications. ## I recently had the same problem I figured out that it was Seroquel that was showing false positives for TCA's. Are you taking Seroquel?

I JUST WANT TO KNOW WHAT IT IS ## It is a very strong nonnarcotic sleeping medication and mood stabilizer......Dont' take this and drive ........be prepared to sleep for a long time.......it gave me side effects eventually horribly and I believe there are lawsuits to take it off the market. I was prescribed 300 mg and stopped taking it ....it was impossible to function and take care of my child. It works for many but not me. My son is in a rehab center and they accdntly gave him Seroquil tonight 200mg. he is currently taking 40mg of foloxitine. what can we expect? ## seraquil is rountinely prescribed in rehab centers, for sleep and anxiety. It has to be taken as prescribed.

ser ## Grandson taking seraquill ## Here's the link to the monograph listing, it will provide you with more information on the drug, its uses, side effects and etc. Seroquel Info Click Here ## I was prescribed seraquil in Sept. 2006...started 200 mg about 1 hr before I wanted to go to sleep...i was asleep within 30-45 min, slept deeply and soundly, and usually fo 7-8 hrs, with very few side effects...occasionally I experienced a few hrs of drowsiness upon awakening, usually dissapated shortly....I am bipolar,started having symptoms of the illness at age 17, will be 54 in Aug...I was misdiagnossecd for years, took or was prescribed almosst everyting imaginable, I have never felt better

used for schizophrenia ## Sorry, due to some incorrect information, I removed the other post to avoid confusion for those who might read this in the future. Just a note, as per the FDA, these drugs ARE NOT APPROVED to treat dementia and Alzheimers, or Parkinson's symptoms. As a matter of fact, they have been proven dangerous if you used for such. My nephew is on this medication, he isn't working and doesn't have a prescription plan. Could you tell me if there is a Patient Assistance program that would allow him to receive this drug from the maker(company)? He will be returning to work soon, but he needs the medicine now. ## On the manufacturers website, they are partnered with PPARX, the Partnership for Prescription Assistance to help people who can't afford them, obtain needed meds when they have no insurance. I'm 37yrs. old & have been taking antidepressants&sleeping meds since 91 ! Started tak'n ELAVIL& ANTIDEPRESSANTS (A-Z) in 02 started SEROQUEL,KLONOPIN,EFFEXOR!! EXCEPT for EFFEXOR my mother has been on the same she has lost all of her teeth& has gained almost 100lbs! I have 13 teeth left& have gained 130ibs! I'M SCARED 2 DEATH! I am really cocerned about the things I have heard about this drug. It seems it really has no real specific resin for taking it. I know someone who take 100mg 5 times a day is that safe? should this be mixed with other dugs like amphetomine? How long should someone be taking it befor it really starts to hurt them? I really would like to hear what you all think please let me know all you know. ## This medication is an antipsychotic used for people with schizophrenia. I have a friend that takes it for uncontroalable mood swings. If you take it, it puts you in a disasociated state. It can react like a muscle relaxer, nerve pill and acohol mix, taking this with amphetomine can cause heart failure, unreversable liver failure, brain damage and even death.
