My father recently passed away pretty unexpectedly. Nothing was wrong with the man, except that he had beginning stage Parkinsons. He was on Requip for it since last May. It controlled his shakes, but he developed Interstitial Lung Disease from the drug. The disease is listed as a side effect, but I had to DIG for that info. No doctor told him anything about all the other things that could go wrong. WE BLAME REQUIP. And I miss my father. ## Hello, Erin! I am so very sorry about your loss. Losing a parent is always so hard, no matter what causes it. Both of mine are gone, now, and I miss them every day!!! While there are risks associated with all medications, and medical treatments, it doesn't help alleviate the anguish, when something happens to someone we love. Has his case been re...

Hello again Requip Forum: I have asked questions before on this forum (Requip changed from 2 mg to 4 mg - and I was very sick). Well, the doc changed me to 3 mg. Not sick anymore, guess the 4 mg was just to strong for me. Anyways, it's great the 3 mg does not make me sick but good grief, I am wide awake at 2:00 a.m. because the drug has worn off. Does Requip make a controlled release by chance? I am so very frustrated - it seems I am constantly switching strengths and each strenth is short lived. Now is this something that I am just going to have to deal with. ## I am wondering about the sleep thing. I take Requip for RLS and it helps till I wake up wide awake and cant fall back to sleep, at 130am I am ready to start the day and thats not good! Other than that I think it does great!...

I have been taking it for several years. Just figured out is has been causing other health issues. Doc said stop mirpex start requip problems with requip stop after 3days. Stop everything. not sleeping panic attacks etc. should it be tapered? ## I'm assuming your doctor expect you to just replace Mirapex with Requip, which likely means a taper wasn't necessary. Did you contact them, before stopping the Requip? A taper might be required, since you've been on one of these types of medications for several years. The issues you've described can be withdrawal effects, along with headache, nausea, and diarrhea. What issues were you experiencing that made you stop the Requip so fast?

I wrote on here last year asking about the effects of requip on an unborn fetus. My RLS was beyond unbearable and the higher the dosage I took the worse the symptoms got. By the time of delivery I was up to 4 mg a day and still only got 2 hours of sleep if I was lucky. I was actually more afraid of my mental health affecting my baby at that point. I recall a few people on this forum shaming me for taking this medication and the risks I was exposing my baby to. My OB shamed me and pretty much everyone using some arbitrary animal study where the dosage was about 10 times higher than a human dosage. I just wanted to report that my daughter is one year old and is absolutely perfect in every way. Not one thing was or is wrong with her. She was born a healthy 7 pounds 8 ounce with no issues. ...

Nausea starts about 1hr after taking the medication, which is 1 mg and lasts for about an hour, does it ever go away? ## How long have you been taking it? Side effects are usually transient and tend to go away, once your body gets used to a medication, but that may take about 4 to 6 weeks. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include stomach pain, loss of appetite, diarrhea and dry mouth.

Can I take Requip and Xanax at same time for severe RLS ? ## Hello, Austin! How are you? I didn't find any problems or interactions listed between these two medications, but it's always best to double check such information to be sure. But, that should be fine, as long as your doctor approves. The FDA warns that Xanax carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability. The typical side effects of Requip may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, vomiting and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I was wandering if this white round no imprint pill is a generic requip ## Hello, Missy! How are you? No, all U.S. prescription tablets are required by law to have an imprint to enable their identification in case of emergency. Thus, any tablet without an imprint can be ruled out as a prescription product. It is most likely just something that's available over the counter. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have a big round white pill that's smooth on both sides with no imprints. Bottle says 350 mg Carisoprodol

I've been on 1mg of Requip since the first trimester with no adverse effects on the baby. Now, in my third trimester the RLS has become unbearable and I've had to increase the dosage to 3 mg a day, not all atonce. The medication has started to make me ill to the point where I'm vomiting multiple times a day. And its still not working great. I am terrified that the increased dosage will hurt my baby but without it I literally will get no sleep. I have tried everything including taking iron supplements. Nothing works. This is ruining my life. Does anyone have any insight into whether or not this increased dosage is dangerous? Thanks so much. ## Hello, BethAnn! How are you? Congratulations on the pregnancy. Since you are pregnant, it would really be best to consult your doctor ...

How do you wean off of 2mg requip xl ## Hello, Gala! How are you doing? I'd suggest asking your doctor for assistance, because they can prescribe some that aren't time released, so you can cut them and slowly taper off of the medication. Why are you stopping it? You may experience some withdrawal or rebound effects, such as worsening restless legs, nausea and diarrhea.

Yellow pill with 5 points to it. Nothing on the back of pill except a line through it like to cut it in half and on the front of the pill there is some sort of imprint but can not tell what it is (it is a very faint imprint) ## Hello! Very sorry about your loss. I can't be certain, without knowing the logo that's on it, but I think you may have found a 0.5mg Requip tablet. There is one that matches this description and it has a very hard to see logo on it. Requip is most commonly used to help treat Parkinson's Disease and RLS. Learn more Requip details here. But as I said, I can't be sure, so this is just a random stab based on your description. The best thing to do would be to just dispose of it. Does anyone else have any ideas on what this might be?

I am 82 and have suffered from RLS (restless leg syndrome) for years. Have been taking Requip but they now seem to have been taken off the maket. They did help quite a lot but the symptoms never seem to go away, only enough to let me get to sleep! A friend gave me some tramacet which I have taken before bed but they take some time to react. First of all should I be taking these at all and should I take them earlier, as I am now sleeping later in the morning. Does anyone else suffer from RLS and maybe suggest another pill? ## @Elsie, My findings state that there are potentially unsafe interactions that apply to the active ingredients in Requip (ropinirole) & Tramacet (tramadol + acetaminophen). Quoted below are the precautions you should be aware of: "Using tramadol together with...
