Recent urine tox screen in ER was positive for benzodiazepines even though I had not taken anything other than cough medicine with codeine, Lexapro and Remeron. Can the Remeron show up as a benzodiazepine?

I take mirtazapine also and last week was told I was positive for benzos too. I was so angry. They tried arguing with me saying it was impossible for that medication to come up on a drug screen. I now know I'm not the only one.

I take Mirtazapine and YES it DOES test positive for a benzo. I have been taking it for 4 years and I know by experience and having taken 100's of drug tests that it does. If someone tells you that it won't they are wrong. Sorry to burst the neysayers bubbles.

Nope sorry I've had 5 drug tests while actively taking remron and not once did I have a positive results. So it must be the urine test kits like I said 5 and not one positive result

You need to go back to school and learn your definitions of Narcotics vs. Benzodiazepines they are not the same thing and you are cross-referencing them

If you are taking Xanax then you would test positive for a benzo because it is a benzodiazepine.

Yes yes yes. This medication can cause a person to test positive for benzodiezepam. No question. Do not take if you are getting drug tested.

My daughter faile twice a week a part for benzos. She also takes remron!! This is bs. You would think the psychiatrist giving the test would know this!!

What shows as a false positive. I'm on alot of different meds and thank God never had this problem. But I'm asking for a friend. Plus don't want to be on meds that cause it when I'm fighting for my kid!

No, as methamphetamine is an upper and you listed downers. Depakote is an antipsychotic, so if anything that might be possible... Just be honest if u took it or better find clean urine.
