Since being on Dopaquel and Serdep I have gained 20kg. I have been off the meds for a month now. Has anyone gone off the Dopaquel and lost weight? If so, how long did it take? ## The active ingredient Quetiapine is most commonly used to treat various mental health disorders. The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and mood changes. However, Serdep, which contains the active ingredient Sertraline, so it may also cause weight gain. Generally stopping them, or switching medication does result in weight loss, but it really depends upon you and your metabolism. Are these the only medications you are currently taking?

I have been taking the generic for Seroquel 400mg, Quetiapine Fumarate, for over a year. It treats my depression, anxiety, and insomnia. Two weeks ago I received a generic made by Accord. That first night I barely slept and my insomnia didn't improve. Also, my symptoms of depression, anxiety, and poor concentration returned. I called the pharmacist but he said I had received the correct medication. I went to my Dr. because I was having a major relapse of symptoms. He suggested I try a generic manufactured by a different company. So, I did, and wouldn't you know, I slept like a baby. This recurrence of symptoms has been difficult. I work for a bank and I can't make mistakes. For the last two weeks, due to poor concentration, I have been making lots of them. I am happy that I ...

I'm prescribed a high amount of morphine ER and morphine IR. I also take quetiapine ER. I need to know if this can cause a false positive for 6-Acetylmorphine in a urine toxicology test? I've read that high doses of morphine can cause this and also the combination of my quetiapine ER. ## Yes. Studies have been done to prove that 6-aceylmorphine can be produced inside the human body for patients prescribed morphine. See the following link for the study. Doctors should remember that tests can also simply be wrong; whether that's because the test sample is contaminated, or the medications contaminated. They've also found 6-acetylmorphine as a pharmaceutical contaminant. I would post the link I've found pertaining to that study, but the page is no longer live. See link b...

I've been taking Quetiapine 25 mg for sleep and anxiety for about a week then halved the dose as it made me feel out of it the next day.. Half a tablet still helped me sleep but I still felt out of it the next day. Went back to work for two days, wasn't good being off driving to work and at work. Decided to stop taking it a few days ago. I didn't sleep. My head felt like strange pinging if that's the word for it. Felt like I lost complete control crying my eyes out, vomiting, heart beating fast, shakes... I was going to book myself into a hospital as I felt so out of control. Went and saw another doctor who gave me Alepam 15 mg which calmed me down and wants me to start on Aropax 20 mg. What should I do? Take these meds or go and book myself into a hospital and get check...

I was prescribed 25mg Quetiapine, because I was still going down-hill with depression, and it seemed to do the trick. However, in a bid to save NHS money, my psychiatrist decided that the dose was so small (he claimed that it was almost 'homeopathic') that I should stop taking it. I did, and after one week, I was having hallucinations, and after 2 weeks I was having a major psychiatric episode, and my wife wanted to stick me in the local unit. She got my GP to put me back on it, and, after a few weeks, I was back to 'normal'. My haematologist reckons that my daily chemo for leukaemia increases the effect of Quetiapine ## Hello, Richard!
