Hi this is Indu 30 yrs old my weight is 85 kg how to reduce. ## Hii can I loss my weight with ebexid ## I believe you are describing the European equivalent of America's " Qsymia" brand medication ? And the manufacturer is Vivus ? It comes in 4 dosages 3.5, 7., 11. and 15 phentermine w/higher dosages of topomax included as the other ingredient , correct ? If so, what is your question, perhaps I may be of some help as I've been using it , myself. ## Just chiming in... thta's what I proposed to my doctor when Qysmia was too expensive. We created our own with 37.5 phentermine and I think 50 Topomax. Worked well until he decided that I had been on phentermine too long (it's a short term med,) and also thought that I diddn't need two stimulants (Adderall) in my bo...

When does it stop working as well as an appetite suppressant and why does your weight loss slow down? ## Hello, Lauren! How are you? Our bodies eventually get used to any medication that we take regularly for a long period of time, which causes them to stop working as well for us. There's no precise time frame that can be given though, because it can vary from person to person. Regardless of the method used to lose weight, there is almost always a plateau that you hit, at some point. Your body also gets used to whatever you're doing to spur it, such as a medication, or exercise and weight loss can slow down, unless you change something to ramp it back up, such as changing your exercise routine, your diet, or the medication that you're taking. The FDA lists Qysmia's typic...

I am trying to find a doctor near Portland, OR that will prescribe Qsymia for me. I am severely overweight and struggle with CFS so energy is a major problem when trying to lose weight on my own. ## Hello, Christina! How are you? Unfortunately, there's no directory of doctors that I can refer to for you according to what they will or will not prescribe. The only thing you can really do is see a doctor, discuss your problem with them and ask them about trying it. Do you currently have a PCP that you see regularly? If so, they may prescribe it, or refer you to someone that can help. Qysimia is an extended release medication that's used to aid in weight loss. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and anorexia. ## Let me know if you found a Doc!

My Dr started me on the 7.5 mg dosage. Is this normal? ## No, the normal starting dose of Qysmia is the lowest, 3.75/23mg for 14 days, then stepping up to the 7.5/46mg dosage. Did you ask them why they prescribed this dosage? Ref: Medscape Qysmia Have you started taking it, yet? The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dry mouth, diarrhea, GERD, and dry eye.

I was on Qsymia for about 16 months with no side effects. I lost 40 pounds at that time. I took a break for about a year and recently in the last 3 months I gained 18 pounds back. I came back to Qsymia but I had terrible side effects. Headaches, ear noise, dizziness. I have been taking it for six weeks and I only have lost 2 pounds during the first two weeks. Right now, I am not losing or gaining any weight. I still feel a dizzy and a little ear fullness. What do you think has changed? Why Qsymia is not working any more and why do I have side effects that I did not have before? ## Time changes everything, including our reactions to medications, sometimes people even discover that they've suddenly developed an allergy to a medication that they had no problem taking for many years. Ho...

Today was the first day (and first dose) of taking Qsymia. I feel no different and was still starving all day. Is this a bad sign? ## It could take a few days of use for it to start having its desired effect. The FDA lists typical side effects of Qysmia as possibly including constipation, insomnia, blurred vision, headache, dizziness, and fatigue. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? Are you on any other medications? ## I'm still exhausted and still starving all the time. I began a new job last week and don't eat while at work but am starved by the time I come home. So, I'm pretty disappointed.

Hi all. I am about to start low dose Qsymia but also take Prozac, been on for years. Anyone on both medications and any side effects or concerns? ## Yes, there is a warning about combining them, according to the FDA, taking both has been known to cause Serotonin Syndrome, a potentially fatal condition. If you have been instructed to take them both, your doctor should be monitoring you frequently, and you should know to watch for any possible symptoms of it, such as confusion, twitching muscles, heavy sweating, diarrhea, muscle rigidity, high fever, and seizures. If you experience any of them, you must seek immediate medical attention. Are they both being prescribed by the same doctor?

I was on qsymia, it worked great. I lost 45lbs. I had a tumor that was noncancerous and started back taking it because I gained some weight from the steroids. However the qsymia stopped working. What else can I take or do to jump-start my weight loss? ## Hello, Tracy! How are you doing? Has there been any change? Are you on any other medications? While medical science has made great strides recently, and our knowledge of the workings of the human body is always growing, unfortunately, we don't, and maybe will never, know everything. That said, any type of brain surgery is iffy, when it comes to the possible effects it might have on someone, there's just no way to know the precise outcome with any real certainty. My sister had a benign tumor that was causing seizures, things went...

I am going to a clinic who is prescribing me a combination of phentermine and topamax. Initially I went to them about 2 years ago and this combination allowed me to lose about 30 pounds like magic. The weight just fell off! I went on maintenance and maintained the weight well. I weaned myself off the medication and was increasing my exercise because I was concerned about gaining the weight back. Then I hurt my hip and had to set a lot, plus as a Realtor the market was as such that required me to do a lot of prospecting to get business so I was on the phone and computer a lot...so a lot of sitting. I ended up putting on 10 lbs before I knew it. I gained it so fast! So I went back to my Diet Clinic and the Phentermine and Topamax isn't working now??? What do you think has changed? Do ...

Need a DR in the Dunn, North Carolina area to prescribe QSYMIA. BCBS insured, meet all BMI requirements. My family physician will not prescribe diet meds. ## The only thing you can really do is set up an appointment with a new doctor and see if they will prescribe it for you. Usually if you call them and ask over the phone, they are reticent to say whether they will, or will not prescribe anything, because they are afraid they might be dealing with a drug seeker. I know that's not what you're doing, I am just letting you know about the reaction you might get, if you ask for a specific medication, and aren't a current patient. You can, however, ask if they accept your insurance. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, loss of appetite, ...

Is there a way, after an extended use of Qsymia to somehow reboot its effects? It worked real well for me in the beginning and I've seen where some have said they skip a dose and also where advise was given that our bodies get used to the meds. So i was wonder if maybe taking a week or two off from using could somehow assist in helping? ## Yes, sometimes it does help to take some time off. How long have you been taking it? The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and mood changes. How much weight have you lost, so far? You can read more about this medication here: ## Thank you for the reply. I’ve been on it for a few years as it’s more for maintenance now. Lost over 150 lbs and need to lose another 40-45. registered on the internet, printed paperwork, took rx from my dr and left it at Kroger pharmacy. They ordered the med. I went to pick it up and they asked for my insurance, told me I would have to do copay which will not be possible as I have a huge deductible not met yet, so I didn't get my free trial offer. ## Hello, Reeda! How are you? I'm very sorry about what happened. Did your doctor write the prescription for just the 14 day trial offer? If not, then that may explain the problem. If he wrote it for a one month supply, they'd give you the 14 days free and then want your insurance and co-pay for the rest of the month. You could also ask them for your prescription back and try a different pharmacy. Qsymia is approved by the FDA to aid in weight loss. Its typical side ef...

I've been on Qsymia high dosage for over a year, exercise and watch my diet carefully. I haven't lost weight in fact I've gained 10 pounds. I'm a thyroid cancer survivor taking Synthroid daily and my thyroid blood tests are fine. This is frustrating. I too skip the dosage on weekends. I've been on qsymia for three years now. Maybe I should switch to another brand. ## Weight gain can be a side effect of Synthroid and it isn't likely to change, while you are taking it. The FDA lists its other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and hair loss. Which medication do you skip on the weekends and why do you skip it?

My wife was on phentermine, and then qsymia. She came off qsymia and is now full of anxiety and anger. Please help. ## Withdrawal effects can be normal, if someone abruptly stops a medication, she may also experience nausea, diarrhea and headache. Why did she stop taking it? These symptoms should go away after a few weeks, once her body gets used to no longer having the medication added. Is she on any other medications?

I sm afrsid to take my prescription of qsymia after reading reviews ## Hello, Christina! How are you? What exactly did you read that makes you afraid to take it? Perhaps that can be addressed for you. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, mood swings and anorexia. Can anyone that's taken it chime in with their experiences?

I am currently on my first week of Qsymia. I need someone's honest opinion and I will ask my doctor too once I see her again. I am not a big drinker at all but when I go on vacation I do get a couple of drinks here and then or maybe once a day. It's my vacation and I want to enjoy it. Am I going to die if I have a drink or 2 or would you recommend stopping the medication for the week and half I am on vacation? ## Hi Steph, According to umm.edu's drug interaction tool, drinking alcohol while taking Qysmia is not recommended as it may increase or decrease blood levels of topiramate (one of the active ingredients in Qysmia) potentially resulting in more side effects and/or a less effective dose. They also goes on to note that the combination of alcohol and topiramate may cause ...

Been on 3 weeks only lost 4lbs but feel like I am losing my mind. Racing heart, anxious, constipated, awful taste in my mouth and horrible insomnia. I want to stick it out but I am scared this will cause long term side effects or really mess me up. My endo only wants me to take it for 3 months but don't know If I should stick it out. Will these side effects go away? Any thoughts? Help? Can this med cause u to have a heart attack? ## Hello, Brenda! How are you? Actually, under the FDA warnings, you should see your doctor immediately, if you experience the pounding or racing heart beats as it may not be a safe medication for you to take. The constipation, insomnia, taste changes and dizziness can be normal side effects. Are you on any other medications?

I have done very well on the medication. I have had to increase the dosage to the full amount as had been advised by the manufacturer and the FDA and after almost a full year it seems to have stopped working, which happens with most medications like this (and pain meds too). My doctor has suggested weekly "drug" holidays (i.e. I don't take it on the weekends) to stimulate it's efficacy when I resume the next weekday. Also, on those weekdays when I simply forget to take it at the early time of day, I just don't take it at all. However, as I reach the full year period in June, I am looking at loosing the monthly $75 discount. So I wrote the manuf. Vivus and asked if they would extend the discount so that I can safely taper down to get off the medication as is the recom...

I read that the makers of Qsymia have an exclusive deal with SAMs Club to provide it at a lower cost for SAMs Plus members. It is supposed to be lower than the discount currently offered through the company. I was wondering did anyone know the cost? ## Hi Masey, I did some investigating on this and found that the wholesale price which pharmacies are paying for Qsymia is around $120-$135 depending on the dosage. With the use of an RX Savings Card, people reportedly pay anywhere from $194-$264. As far as Sam's Club is concerned, I would encourage you to contact them directly in order to receive an accurate answer regarding the cost of Qsymia. However, I would probably anticipate the price range to be somewhere in the ballpark of what it might cost with the use of a savings card. If yo...
