Prostate Problem
UpdatedI used to urinate frequently in the night. With this complaint I went to a urologist. That time retention of urine in the bladder (Ultrasound scanning) was found to be around 40cc. Then I was prescribed Dynosper(Tamsulosin 0.4mg). Used it for about 4 months. I did not have any problem. Meanwhile I found that if I stop taking water around 2 hrs before going to bed, the problem of frequent urination stopped. Then I discontinued the tablet. I did not feel it as a problem. Two months ago, approached urologist with the complaint of frequent urination in the day time. Not able to empty the bladder at a stretch etc.. Then my urine flow was analyzed. It was 4cc at maximum followed by a graph related to dripping of urine. Then I am prescribed Flotral-D (Alfuzocin10mg +dusteride 0.4 mg). I am using it for the last 15 days. Flow was good for about 2 days. One day I forgot. Next day continued the dose. Though doctor suggested 9 PM. I am taking the tablet around 11 PM (0.5 hr after dinner). After started taking this tablet, I feel my potency (libido) is decreased. Can I stop this tablet and go back to 0.4 mg of Tamsulosin? Even this tablet showed side effect but relatively less. I am 54. I get worried. Kindly suggest. I feel I should not have started the tablet (tamsulosin ) in the beginning. I also feel that the doctor could have been kind enough to warn about the side effects of the drug when the drug was prescribed. Pardon me if I said it wrong.
