I would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.

Judy~are there any acupuncturists near you? If not, you may want to use dry needling which is a modern medical concept of acupuncture. You get it from a physical therapist so referral is necessary. Acupuncturists do not need a medical referral. One works on chi which is energy and the other works on specific body pin points that allow them to do close to the same. It just may get you out of that misery with your shoulder. Be well~Pood

Kitty-search more and you will find 4 pages of deaths related to Prolia from all over our world. That was in 2012. The latest stats are between 4,000 and 5,000. So sad!

I took my first shot in april 2016. As the shot progressed i started having so many side effects. Alot of them r not reported to u. As the shot progressed i kept getting different side effects. They wouldnt stop. I was suppose to get another shot in oct. but i refused. I have never seen so many side effects with this drug. I am still having new side effects still. Wondering when this will end. How long does this stay in your system.

So sorry for your loss. I remember being touched by your postings. Did you report to FDA and Amgen?

Dianne, those lawyers all all probably in cahoots with the drug company!!
Just came from my physiotherapist for help with my muscle pain and she was quite aware of others who have experienced side effects from Prolia. Her husband is a doctor and refuses to prescribe it. Instead he recommends diet and exercise.

I have contacted several. They are not doing Prolia. Also some will only take mass class action suits. One large, but successful firm wants 1,000 clients for a class action!!!!!!! I'm not sure if Prolia hasn't been on the market long enough for good documentation - - I wish I had an attorney friend who was proficient in class action to give me the low down on these suits. I'm still researching when possible. Mostly the contacts I've made have been abrupt in their turn down.

None of my drs believed me that the prolia was causing me constant sinus problems. I was so sick for years. Now that I'm off the prolia I still hv a chest rash and a rash on my wrist.

Let me explain this a little for everyone's edification. Prolia needs Calcium and a lot of it. The human body is actually unable to store calcium so Prolia attacks our muscles as that is the only source of calcium in the human body other than what we ingest and delete. When Prolia attacks our muscles, it causes us a lot of pain and I don't like to use that word since it's a loaded word and causes more pain so it's better for our minds to refer to it as 'discomfort' or 'extreme discomfort'. The only thing that can stop that from happening to us is with using a good form of Magnesium. Mine is vegan and it says supports muscle and bone health. Diana O who has been here as long as I have found one that worked well for her. So, if the first one causes bad side effects for you, use a different brand or type. As for the rashes, the only thing that works on them is Prednisone. You can have 10mg of Pred per day for a year while on Prolia as the Prolia is building up bad old bone mass and the Pred will just destroy some of what Prolia has built up. This should never be done except under very certain medical circumstances if one is not on Prolia. It takes a wicked drug to destroy another wicked drug. I also noticed where Amgen did their human study and I truthfully do not believe most of those people have bone structure similar to what we do in the countries in which people post on this forum. We had a lovely lady from China living in Eastern Canada and she got a broken leg for zero reason with Prolia. It's a couple of years back in the back pages of this Forum. The big problem with Prolia is that it is carbon based, just as everything living or having lived on this Earth is. When one takes a carbon based drug it has half-lives that go on to infinity as there is never an end to a half life. Amgen has previously stated that the half life of Prolia is about 16 days so that means in 16 days 1/2 of the Prolia is out of your body and in another 16 days another half of that half on into infinity. That is how we can tell about how old something very ancient is -- by using carbon dating -- meaning how much carbon is left in whatever that artifact is if it lived on our Earth or was made from something that lived on this Earth. There will always be a super tiny amount of Prolia in us because it is carbon based but will cause us zero harm. It came from the ovaries of Chinese Hamsters. Amgen even sent mice into space to see what that effect had on them when they got back. This sounds like science fiction but it is true. Prolia may not have been a super bad drug if it had not bound to RANKL and that L is the most important letter in there as it means our immune system. When the immune system is compromised all kinds of bad things happen and do happen. Diana O. has been searching for an attorney for a Class Action suit but so far, we are not on their radar yet. Every place has a different Statute of Limitations on when you found out from a medical expert that Prolia did x,y,and/or z to you. Where I live it is 5 years but every State in the US is different and so are different countries. I hope this information helps some of you that are going through Prolia. There will eventually be an end to it but again, we are all different so some will get well faster than others while they still struggle to get their lives back. My advice is to get the very best medical treatment you can and if possible, an Immunologist. They are pretty rare it seems but I had one so you can too. Be well~Pood

Kitty: No. i never contacted an attorney. My mom has just about "dis-owned me" because I didn't think my dad should have gotten a Prolia shot before he ever got it. I took my computer to her and my brother (his wife is the office manager where my dad's doctor was, the one who prescribed Prolia for my dad) and both my mom and brother were mad at me for showing them what the side effects could be and besides that, my dad had kidney failure, was allergic to latex and had a leak in his small intestine (had surgery on it) all 3 reasons to consider NOT having the injection. I couldn't win then and it has only gotten worse and my mom told me to not even bring it up ever again. The family doctor was wrong to even suggest Prolia for my dad in the first place and he NEVER told them what could happen. He said side effects were rare. Oh how i wish he'd get a couple doses of this killer drug! so in answer to your question, "No" I never contacted an attorney. I would have gotten no support from my mom or brother. It will always bother me as to what happened with my dad when he got that drug.

C Louise: It has been awhile since you posted. Wondering if you contacted an attorney? Did you speak with the law firm that represents Amgen? Statues of limitation are different in every state. Where I am at One year for the doctor and two years to bring a case against the company.

Pood, the reason I started low was the fact that I have been spooked with so many reactions to things that I have been prescribed so I thought possibly I would work up to a higher dose. Are you referring to magnesium glycinate which Diane mentioned and if so is it available in drug stores? I'm also in terrible pain in my shoulder and upper right arm. Don't know if this is a result of Prolia or the fact that I saw a chiropractor about a muscle problem on my left side and now with his questionable treatment I am even worse than I was before I saw him. He told me it was a pinched nerve in my neck.i stopped seein him! I go to see a very reputable physiotherapist tomorrow and am hoping for some kind of miracle! Have not slept for 3 days now as it hurts so much. In other words, IM A MESS? I'll scout around for the magnesium once the freezing rain stops and I don't slide off the road and end up with pain in some other part of my weary body!

Diana is definitely not alone. My esophagus and stomach, heartburn so much worse after taking these bone density medicines and Prolia just pushed me over the edge. I'm so happy I found this site, to know it is not in my head and all my suffering is real.

Diana~I found stomach and esophagus on the FDA;s website in the USA so it is definitely Prolia related as other people have relayed their info to the FDA or Amgen, who has to tell them. You certainly are not alone. Be well~Pood

Judy, why were you doing 50's when I told you the number. It has to be straight Magnesium or you do get the diarrhea. That is what Milk of Magnesia is made from. Look at Diana O's post, She found the right kind. Yes we did have two Diana's here so she had to change hers to Diana O. She's been a Prolia survivor for as long as I have. I was reading Amgen website today and also the FDA. I found both of them to be lacking info but it definitely did mention esophagus and stomach issues for the person that was wondering. How many of us had our calcium levels taken before our Prolia injection and how many of us had dental clearance. I know I sure did not.
