Prolia Side Effects (Page 33)

Updated

I would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.

The FDA replied that until they have sufficient number of people complaining to them about Prolia, it is on the market and they are so sorry for me. Yes, someone in DC is going boohoo. Yeah, like that's happening. If we write enough to them they may ask the manufacturer to put stronger warning labels on it for physicians. I think it will talk a Class Action Law Suit to get this off the market. I have a great attorney and anyone that wants to join me, let me know. We will gather names, data from this poison and how it really doesn't help the bone, just makes more brittle bones.

I will be willing to join as I developed ONJ drug induced and I have the official diagnosis plus everything else.

In Oct. of last year I posted looking to see if there was a class action lawsuit. My sister lives in Canada and I just drove 1500 miles to be with her. She was in intensive care with a staff blood infection. This was just another effect of Prolia in her system. The drug is gone but the side effects remain. Her immune system is destroyed. Surprisingly, she was discharged at 80 pounds and now lives at 84 pounds and continues to fight for the life she had before Prolia. All the statistics are for the U.S. and still nothing there - what about Canada? What about North America? This is unbelievable with thousands confirmed dying in the U.S. alone. Many, many thousands more are dying and the doctors do not want to admit their responsibility and the cause of death is left as general and not the cause and effect that is the reality. Prolia is ruining people's lives and killing likely 10's of thousands.

I've written to the FDA 4 times and I've called them several times. I've posted several previous times on here. I'm so disgusted in the FDA in so many ways but I told them I think it's horrible that they approve drugs like Prolia and don't make it mandatory that the doctors have to do follow up with patients that they prescribe Prolia to nor do they make it mandatory that the doctor reports any side effects. In my dad's case, because of the chain of events and no one in 4 different facilities would take responsibility for reporting the side effects, none of them got reported by professionals as I feel it needed to be and should have been. I have reported and reported and reported each time he had a side effect. But it needs to be made mandatory of the health care professionals if they're going to prescribe these wicked drugs. As far as I'm concerned, they are off the hook and therefore I feel that the FDA has NO clue, no true picture of what these drugs are doing to people. Simply an unorganized joke in our healthcare system.

This morning one of my clients was describing an issue following a Prolia injection. I work in the pharmaceutical industry however do not work for a company that is in this disease state nor do I sell products in this category. I keep abreast of other products and disease states for my own personal information. I would not let a family member take any of these osteoporosis drugs and the longer lasting (higher half life of the drug) the worse the side effects. Anyone advised of taking these drugs should do their own research and if you believe 'everything' your doctor tells you, you really need to wise up. We are living in a different world today and unfortunately need to be your own advocate or have someone to do it for you. These drugs are major financial wins for a lot of people but whether you really need the drug is something you need to weigh the pros and cons.

Like it did a lot of good to report it to the FDA. Got an email back that said if they keep getting more they will start upping the labels/packaging inserts for the MDs to read, like they really read them????? I'm about 100% sure AMGEN did that human study in India and sent the FDA false results. Really poor people will die for a tiny amount of our money.

I am now pretty sure that this problem I have been having with the burning in my legs, back of my thighs tail bone that is preventing me from sitting is from my Prolia shot. I have been to every doctor, chiro, ortho, acupuncture, pain management. yesterday I got a shot in my tail bone which didn't help. I guess I will just have to get use to the pain and learn to live with it. My autho said it is fro a back issue. I didn't have any of this before the Prolia shot. I am using a compound cream which doesn't help t all. So, so sorry I ever took that shot and second guessing whould I have this if I hadn't.

Everyone on Prolia should have an Oral B or SonicCare Easy Clean battery toothbrush (see Amazon). It cleans as well as any hygienist. I use little 'christmas tree' shaped picks to get in between teeth and massage gums well with soda and salt. Also ACT helps keep teeth healthy. It's expensive but if you have Walmart, they have it in their generic brand that is not expensive. This needs to be done 2 times per day. We need to be very proactive with this poison in our bodies.

Its been 18 months since my second injection , just had a fractured tooth removed . Mouth pain continues and especially worse after cleanings or dental work . Still getting skin infections that resemble shingles but my Doc says it is not . Finally just in the last month I have begun to feel better . I am again able to clean my house and have much more energy . Glad I survived this terrible medication to post this information !!!! Good Luck to everyone going thru this nightmare .

It's been about 8 weeks since my injections. I first reported a rash over my Breast and torso, body aches and severe abdominal and joint pain. The last two weeks I begin to notice a drop in my energy, my hips and lower back begin to hurt so severe the doctor placed me on tramadol and muscle relaxers at night. I have suffer from migraines since I was 12, but these headaches were different, dizziness along with extreme nausea while taking the migraine medication that normally works. The last three days I started running fever with frequent urgency to urinate. I ended back in the doctors office and he explained to me these were all side effects of Prolia and that the medication could be weakening my immune system. He prescribed more medication told me to try to stay on top of the infection and fever. I have lost 5 1/2 lbs which am not complaining about, but it truly reminds me of being sick while undergoing chemo. I have spoken to some that have not had any side effects with Prolia, and I questioned my doctor about this, he stated the medication is fairly new data is still being collected. Obviously if your immune system is stronger you will probably have less issues with the injections than those with a weak immune system. I just hope I can overcome these obstacles and my bones get stronger, because surgeries from broken bones are not very fun either??

I have total hip replacement surgery scheduled in about two weeks. I have to go to a cardiologist because my MD doesn't believe me that my problems are from Prolia, even tho they are listed as side effects. The surgeon's office called and wanted to know if I wanted my blood back or donor blood. I told them I wanted nothing to do with my blood and I want donor blood and plasma. They are unable to 'clean' the Prolia out of my blood.

I now have a walker to get around. I am also thinking I might need to get in a wheelchair soon. Also my urine is cloudy and sometimes has so much blood that I can visually see it. I have extreme pain in my left back, hip and knee. My right leg has lost its strength. All of this happened a few weeks after the prolia shot. With time will it work its way out of my system?

I am so sorry that you are another victim of this devastating drug. How long ago did you have the injection? I had my second one in January. The effects are ongoing. Stiffness and severe pain in my hips and back. Also a blistering rash on my knees and elbows. My primary care Dr. put me on Prednesone. It helps tremendously. I have been slowly lowering the dosage, trying to wean myself off it. Last time I tried the rash came back. Huge elbow blisters. Back on the steroids again. 10mg seems to be just enough to stop the symptoms. I can't stay on Prednesone much longer because itis really bad for the osteoporosis.
You might consider checking with your Dr. steroids may also work for you too.
BTW I am 70 years old, female with a thin build and have been diagnosed with severe osteoporosis. I have had two Prolia shots. My bone density results in April 2015 were negative 2% from the same time last year. I had side effects from the first shot but didn't realize that the shot had caused them. They didn't start until three weeks later. I thought I had hurt myself somehow.

as you should then know, there is never an end to half lives. They go on to infinity. The nurses at Amgen told me I should start feeling better close to the end of my fifth month. They do seem like they really care about us and are documenting every adverse effect we are getting from Prolia. It seems to me that AMGEN is more interested in me than the FDA is. I just had huge swelling in one foot and ankle. Was wondering -- is this a DVT or is it edema from Prolia. I kept my foot on the top of the sofa for a day and then worked in the yard the next with tight stocking and shoes and it was edema from Prolia. I have to go to my dentist this coming week as I am either getting ONJ or it has caused a tooth to act up. NEVER AGAIN!!

I don't know about any connections to my eye problems but: I now have 2 detached vitreous's and one of them has now stuck itself to the back of my retina, instead of dissolving on it's own. So now I need a VITRECTOMY !! They need to put 3 holes into eyeball, scrape the back of retina off, and then put a gas bubble on back of eye for a month. In the mean time, you need to lie face down for one month, until the bubble heals the back of retina. I never had any problems until I had one dose of PROLIA !!! BEWARE !!!

Pred causes osteoporosis! One should NEVER take Pred while on Prolia. That is one of the main reasons I have -2.5 osteoporosis. My Doc had me on 10-20 mg of Pred per day for a year. Now she gave me a shot of the poisonous Prolia to supposedly help mitigate the damage she did to me. Maybe we would be better off staying away from our MD's until someone actually comes up with something that works and doesn't do serious harm to us. AMGEN's nurses said all the bone that would be built up in 6 months would be reversed back to -2.5 osteoporosis without the Prolia. That equates to the fact that I'm horribly ill for zero benefit.

When you have blood in the urine, it is time to get to the ER yesterday!!! That's one that can easily lead to death. Why are you here writing about it??

I know that Prednisone eats bones. I have had to choose between extreme pain and stiffness and dime size blisters. The Prolia side effects had crippled me. I was either in bed or using a cane on good days. My life wasn't mine anymore. I can function most of the time when I take the steroid. I try to get more exercise and take massive amounts of calcium the D3. Until the Prolia wears off I'm stuck. I'll take whatever helps me get through this.
