Prolia Side Effects (Page 23)
UpdatedI would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.
I have had three, maybe four Prolia injections and have had a few issues. The main one being hair falling. I have weak thin hair at the best of times but it started to shed really badly. Went to a dermatologist who thought it could have been Lipitor. So stopped taking that, but hair loss continued. I now think it was the Prolia. I was due to have another shot in November, but have declined it so far. Hair seems to have stopped falling as much but I am 4 months past the expiry of the last treatment, and my GP originally told me it does not stay in the system, like some other medications do. I am thinking I will decline further Prolia, but have a dermatologist appointment and will ask her opinion. Only other symptoms I can think are also related are a couple of episodes of sever back pain, not just an ache but real pain. These were not related to anything I had done, or overdone at the time.
I had a single injection of PROLIA 10 months ago and this poison still remains in my body. I am still suffering badly of side effects which I never had before the injection, i. e. pain in my bones and muscles, skin inflammation, hair loss and a floater in my eye. I hope this poison didn't permanently damaged my immune system and will wear off eventually. What a disappointment!!!!
I had only 1 injection but the side effects have been great. My mouth still is seriously bothering me. I am afraid of necrosis. I had lost two teeth and my dentist is seriously concerned. Pain in my left thigh is impacting my walking. Sometimes, I can't barely eat chicken or even any kind of steak as I worry that I would loose more teeth or any dental work. Now I need an implant. My rheumatologist stopped the prolia after my last visit to my dentist. I am only on calcium, vitamjn D and exercise. I also been able to loose weight. But my thyroid has been uncontrolled and therefore has been weak. I insist on not taking Prolia. I will be calling the FDA and the pharmaceutical company to report this poison. For your information, I have Crest, Raynauds and Osteoporosis. Good luck to everyone! Remember that we are our best advocate for our health! Research every medication you are prescribed before taking anything.
Yes DO NOT TAKE anymore PROLIA !!! Many I know have had necrosis and all the bad side effects people have listed before me ! I'm due for another shot of something, we had to wait 2 yrs. before another med for osteoporosis. Now the MD wants me to take RECLAST again ! But breaking the femur (long bone in leg) happens frequently, and then the jaw problems start. I never had a jaw problem since TMJ surgery in 1987, but since PROLIA, I've been having teeth pain, I need an implant (which I will not waste 3 grand on, as my tooth is in the back of my mouth. And who knows how long before I'll get osteonecrosis and lose more teeth ! The RECLAST has the exact same side effects as PROLIA, so I'm all messed up about what med to take anymore. I know RECLAST is used for chemo, in cancer patients, they just give me a lower dose, but it's still chemo !! Good Luck to all of us that are guina pigs for these meds ! The MD'S have no other med to offer except the cancer meds. Sad story !
I have only recently started following this thread, having had three Prolia injections. You mentioned hair loss, has it regrown or are you still having this problem. I had not previously related my hair loss to the injection. Having read a lot of these comments am now convinced it probably was related. Also note a couple of other things, a couple of episodes of back pain, a couple of incidents of the sharp pain in the area of one ear, plus a UTI - all of which others have mentioned. Now having to rethink ongoing treatments,
I have been curious to find out how long Prolia stays in the body. There are some reports of 6 months, 8 months and even one reference to 18 months. Where can I find out this information?
I think that every body reacts differently. It's scary. It has been over 6 months since my only Prolia injection, although I am better, I am still afraid of any long term loss of health. Don't take any of this type of meds, there is not enough scientific trials to justify the negative side effects. Everyone impacted by Prolia should report it to the FDA and to the labs, as some day, we will be able to prove the harmful poison of this medicine. Have faith and remember that we are our best advocate for our health. Good luck.
My dentist told me , 18 months before prolia leaves body . UNLESS you go in hyperbariatric chamber . Only way to have dental work .
I don't know where your Dentist got his info but I'm of the Prolia shot now for almost 30 months and still suffering the same side effects after shot 1,2 and 3.
DO NOT TAKE IT AGAIN ! ! ! IT IS POISON TO US !
You cant judge a product after 8 days. Impossible!. Did you read up up side effects before. Sometimes you just read and then think you have them Even an Asprin can have terrible side effect...but in most cases very rare. Just like Prolia.
Buddah, could you please tell us about your experience with PROLIA: How many shots did you get? Did you have any sideffects? What benefits did you get, if any? My experience with PROLIA is an absolute tragedy. I had a single injection of PROLIA 11 months ago and this poison still remains in my body. I am still suffering badly of side effects which I never had before the injection, i. e. pain in my bones and muscles, skin inflammation, hair loss and a floater in my eye. I hope this poison didn't permanently damaged my immune system and will wear off eventually.
Did you drink 2 to 3 glasses of water BEFORE the injection. I was told that drinking the water helps prevent side effects and my doc has had no patients with side effects if they drank the water.
Side effects? My doc has recommended I take this drug but after reading all the postings here I'm afraid to start. I took Actonel and Fosomax for years which didn't improve my osteoporosis. Of course, the doc says that none of his patients have complained of any adverse side effects. Not sure what to do. My osteoporosis keeps getting worse year by year. I exercise, am thin and eat healthy.
Do not do it! Read all the adverse side effects, not worth it! It is poison!
Take Boniva and Forteo Injections, they helped me most!
Have you done the Forteo injections, I had no side effects just hassle of
doing them every nite for 2 years. But they are what really put my numbers
back in place.
Don't pay any attention to the reply from Alexis
She obvisouly works for the company that supplies this stuff
I am due for my third shot of Prolia and am probably not going to have it.
I have developed severe constipation, red rashes on my arms, anxiety, pain and burning while urinating, night sweats and many other unpleasant effects. I believe that this drug has a cumulative effect so that the more shots you have the more likely you are to develop side effects.
I also found out that Prolia causes the body to stop making bone, therefore causing old bone to become denser but more brittle, increasing the likelihood of a fracture!
I got my 3 rd. injection yesterday 5/18/14 just got the results of my last bone scan from 2 weeks ago and have had an average of 10 % bone mass increase.. the drug is working for me. yes there are side affects, some have worse than others. I argued with my endocrinologist for months before I agreed to try it.. yes.. I do have stomach cramps and bloating for a short time after the injection..
good luck to you
