Yes. The best results I heard are at 6 pm the 5-6 hours prior to procedure. I woke up at 2 for my 8 procedure and was clean the doctor said he could have "eaten off of my colon"
Good luck

My doctor said to take one dose at 2 pm the day before, the other one at 8, which I did. It kicked in within an hour of taking it both times and I just had about 4 very quick trips to the toilet after each one. I was completely done by bedtime and sailed through the night with nary a trip (except to pee). I did drink lots of liquids in addition to the 2 glasses, but those were all my choice as long as they were clear, none of that disgusting gallon of the gag-inducing horror show everyone has had to deal with until now.

I tried the prepopik for the first time 2 weeks ago. I was excited before trying it because of all the positive reviews I read online before taking it. I had first dose at 4pm ( instead of 6pm ) because I just needed to get it over with sooner than later. In about an hour, my stomach started rumbling. It took perhaps 2 hours for it to take effect. I was very pleased and surprised with the the taste of product - something kind of citrusy / lemony. Best product I have ever tried. I have tried many horrible ones, from drinking gallon of what seemed like salt water, the phosphosoda, the pills, the osmo prep. I have been a colitis sufferer now for about 25 yrs. and colonoscopies are as routine for me as eye exams, unfortunately. Finally, something new on the market that really did not make me gag. I made a few trips to the bathroom and had my second dose at 3am. Took maybe 2 or 3 more times to go and really empty out but I was clean enough for my 9:30 exam. I only had gas problems that day and stomach did not bother me or cause me any discomfort. Not going to be afraid of future colonoscopies from now on. Good luck to all !!!!

This is my first colonoscopy test and was prescribed Prepopik. I took my first 5oz dose at 4pm. The taste wasn't bad at all. It's just about 5pm and so far nothing. I'lm drinking clear liquids as instructed and my second dose of Prepopik won't be until 2am. I'll keep you informed on its performance and or any problems.

I had my first ever colonoscopy yesterday. I took the first dose on Monday at 4pm and it didn't work until Tuesday at 5am, the day of my procedure. The second dose I took at 4am on Tuesday. nothing else happened. I told the nurse but they did the procedure anyway. A third of my colon could not be viewed, I was not cleaned out. The Doctor said I was in the 5% of people it does not work well for. It's supposed to work in 2-4 hours, mine took 11 -12 hours. So guess what happened in the afternoon after the procedure. Yep spent the afternoon and evening back in the bathroom emptying the rest.

Your times don't add up when talking about working. I am fixing to do my colonoscopy Friday and my dr prescribed mine at 5 pm and 2 am. I was told the more you hydrate the better the cleaning. Did you drink a lot of fluids the day before you started your prep?

What time was you procedure done? In my case I took one at night and one in the AM but my procedure was not till after 3PM. It was slower than some of the others so I took 2Dulcolax the night before. I have a very slow system.

I used Prepopik for first time. This was my fifth colonoscopy. Small 5oz lemon tasting dose with clear liquids follow is great improvement. I am 6'2" 215 and 1st dose took a couple of hours to really kick in. Second dose kept me busy for a few hours. I had 7:30 appointment so not much sleep. I started at 6PM and second at 1AM. I would move everything up 1 hour. Clear diet day before helped. Prepopik is great product.

I absolutely loved the taste of Prepopik compared to suprep. It didn't linger on my tongue that salty taste!!!! Cost me $32 but well worth it

Jut had my colonoscopy yesterday. My procedure was at 12:45 pm. The MD office said to take at 4pm & the again at 10pm the day before. As I was anxious and wanted to get it over with- I started at 2:30pm and 8:30 pm. Both times it worked in an hour or so. I had a slight amt of cramping with first dose only- but not bad really. I'm glad I took the second dose at 8:30- as it enabled me to sleep a few hours. I was up in the BR about 3am and I was still using the BR at 7-8 am (12 hours after the second dose). It is a good product. Mix with very cold water and do mix it for 2-3 min. as the pkg said.

My first time trying Prepopik...wasn't too horrible to drink the 5oz, then the 5 8oz glasses of water. That was at 10am....I've made two trips to the bathroom (it is now 1:30pm). That's it. I know I am not cleaned out yet. I am patiently waiting for it to kick in more. I've been drinking clear fluids all day (mainly water). My kidneys are working just fine! LOL. I've made more trips to pee than to poop! The doctor's instructions say to take the next dose at 10pm, but on the box, site, and on this post, everyone says 6 hours...so I'm uncertain what to do. My examination is at 9am Monday (today is Sunday). Is it normal to take so long for it to clean me out or make me have frequent trips to the bathroom? Anyone else going through this? All of my other preps worked within an hour or two and I was done by nightfall...empty and clean. I really don't want to have to prep again :(

I was worried to when I was delayed on my prep. Everything seemed that I was getting cleaned but I was perfect. I drank more than just water though. I needed some electrolytes to keep my blood levels normal. I was nervous goung in because it was nothing compared right my prep 10 years ago but I was sooooooo cleaned out. Keep drinking and all should be good. I was surprised too!!!! Soooooo much better than the Supreps taste. Easier to get down and more tolerable for my taste buds :) I didn't Even pay but $14. Well worth it

As much as prepopik costs-it was so absolutely positively worth it. This was my third colonoscopy and by far the easiest. The taste didn't linger on my tongue and it was only 5 ounces. It tasted like an orange lemonade. I started my first dose after work around 5 and by 8 it had started. I woke up at 3 for my 7 am procedure and they removed two polyps. Worth $40!!!!!! I know I'll take it next time too... in 3 years

I agree - Prepopik is superior colon prep - will ask for it again. Used it for my very first colon prep (split dose, 5 p.m. yesterday, and then 3:30 a.m. this morning), had colonoscopy this morning. I was worried after hearing so much bad press about colon prep. This went very well. The taste of the 5 oz. doses was very sour. I learned it is important to keep stirring full 3 minutes after pouring in powder, until chemical reaction subsides - less queasy on the tummy that way. It took 3 1/2 hours to kick in after first dose. No cramping, just abdominal rumbling until watery stools started. Was able to go to bed at 10:30 p.m., woke at 12:30 a.m. for another bathroom visit. Was able to get another 3 hrs sleep until alarm went off for second dose - continued bowel clearing immediately after second dose. Got another 90 minutes rest. More watery, clear stool in the morning before being driven to surgery center. Had procedure at 9 a.m., doc said colon prep was good - two polyps removed. FYI - had all clear liquids previous day (broth, gelatin, tea, apple juice, electrolyte frozen pop), stopped fiber supplements, nuts, seeds, several days before procedure. Am rehydrating today, tea, soup, bananas, aloe juice. Thanks to all commenters for all the info.

Has anyone been told not to use tap water? I am getting ready for my second procedure and remember being told last time to use only bottled SPRING water. Thought I would share. At a moment like this...the Nirvana label brings a chuckle.
