Predisone Panic/rage

Just a little background I'm a 17 year old thats 131 pounds and a pretty nice down to earth guy. Two days ago I went to the doctor for ear pain, it turns out my ear was swollen and preventing drainage, I was prescribed prednisone (2 20mg tablets each morning, 5 days), along with amoxicillin (2 500mg tablets)and antibacterial ear drops.

I took my first dosage this morning about 10 o'clock, my mom called me to ask me how I was doing at around 1 I noticed I was extremely sassy and agitated talking to her but aft that was over things went back to normal. I new that prednisone was a steroid and as a dumb 17 year old I got kinda happy that I might gain muscle, so I looked it up, turns out it is the opposite and it makes you gain weight, honestly I didn't really care about that I was just a little bummed out, then I also started reading people's horrible stories about prednisone and started to have what i think is a panic attack (I've never had unreasonable anxiety so I can only guess that it was a panic attack) it was pretty bad and lasted for like 10 minutes so to clear my mind I just went outside to juggle a soccerball, it was kind of nice but then I accidentally kicked the ball and it hit my nose, (not that hard) but I was extremely pissed, I. Started cussing and I don't think I have ever been so mad at something so little, so I noticed my rage and just decided to take a really cold shower to help me cool down, then I read some more stories about how horrible prednisone can be with attitude problems and I'm pretty scared right now.

Honestly my ear feels all better and I just want to get the hell off of it, but I don't really want to do anything without talking to my doctor first.

The panic attack and rage happened around 2:30, now it's 3. I was thinking this was way to early to have symptoms as I took it 5 hours ago but then again I'm no doctor.

Hi, Bob! How are you feeling today?

First, even if it was an anabolic steroid that's the type that can cause a gain in muscle mass, taking it for only 5 days wouldn't be enough to do it.

And everyone is different, so it is highly possible that you did experience adverse effects that fast, you wouldn't be the first person it happened to and I doubt you'll be the last.

Steroids can affect both your hormone levels and your brain chemicals, but to add some good news for you, 5 days of it is also not likely enough to cause you to gain any noticeable amount of weight.

And the anxiety, panic attack, rage and etc. are all probably being contributed to by both medications, the Amoxicillin and the Prednisone.

The Prednisone was probably prescribed to take down the inflammation in your ear and isn't as essential as the antibiotic.
