Possible Causes For A Negative Urine Test

I have been on 10/325 for three years. I have been compliant in every way with my pain and wellness doctor. I suffer with severe RA. I go every three months for RX and follow up. I went in today and my physician point blank said i was negative for my hydrocodone, i can take up to five in 24 hours. I was in shock and she was absolutely rude. I am honest and have never ever been concerned about a urine test. So i was in shock. I did recall having about five days of n/v/d prior to my visit 3 mos ago, during my illness i still took my meds along with phenergan and routine meds. So would this cause a neg?

Is the urine test from the time when you didn't take the pain meds for five days before your appointment ? If your dr/nurse asked you if you had any pain meds left, did you tell him the correct number if you didn't take any for five days ?

No there is no reason for it to come negative they don't just check for a day of meds they can check for levels l
Of how long you have been taking them correctly
I have been in pain management for over 19 years and never had one issue with my drug test !

Well if you were ill and didn't take your Vicodin for 5 days prior to your last quarterly evaluation and u/a that would explain why they received A NO MEASURABLE HYDROCODONE LEVEL READING. If so you should have had 25 tablets remaining to provide to offset the discrepancy. If you failed to disclose this information you are technically not in compliance. Indeed to most it seems trivial but in today's overly restrictive opioid environment the slightest deviation gives prescribers the ammunition needed to terminate your relationship especially if you were taking on average 150 tablets monthly on a long term basis. For most who understand chronic severe pain clearly it is not but the DEA has made prescribing controlled dangerous substances an act of evil as sad as that is.

Danielle, some drug screens check for levels and some only check to see if the drug is in your system.

BL did not miss 5 days of meds. Read again. I'm having the same problem even after taking my usual dose. I'm testing negative for EVERYTHING I take. I do throw up a lot of my meds even 8 hours after taking. They are undigested and tablets still appear in the toilet bowl hours after ingestion.
