What is the content of phenypropanolamine in dynatussin capsule? Can it can cause a rise in blood pressure with a blood pressure of 125/80? ## Yes, it can cause higher blood pressure as a side effect, but 125/80 is not really a high blood pressure, since normal is 120/80. The NIH lists the other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, insomnia, and headache. Are you on any other medications? Did your doctor say it was high?

Can i take nasataap while breastfeeding? My baby is almost 4 month old now and im so scared to take the tablet. Please advise. Thanks ## Phenylpropanolamine, one of the active ingredients in Nasatapp has in my investigation been under scrutiny for causing birth defects when taken during pregnancy. On the other hand, I'm also finding that there is no data on the excretion of Phenylpropanolamine into human milk during breastfeeding. Having said this, I would probably talk with your doctor for another opinion and take caution to only use it if the benefits outweigh possible risks. As for Brompheniramine, the second active ingredient in Nasatapp... when taken in small and infrequent doses, reports suggest that there is nothing to worry about with regards to adverse effects from breastfe...

Im on my 3rd week of pregnancy. My doctor prescribed nasatapp to me because of my allergy. Is it safe to drink? what are the possible effects to my baby since im on my first trimester? ## Nasatapp contains the active ingredients Phenylpropanolamine and Brompheniramine, it used to treat allergies. The problematic medication here is the Phenylpropanolamine, the U.S. FDA removed it from over the counter sale due to safety concerns. It was found to greatly increase the risk of strokes in those that used it. In addition, when it was used by pregnant women, it was found to cause birth defects. If it were me, I would seriously discuss these issues with my doctor, before using the medication and ask if there is something safe that they can prescribe. Are there any other comments or questions? #...

No one seems to know this, A Blue oval Pill with E 745 on it. How is it possible this cannot be identified? ## Hello, Brovolone! How are you? From what I've been able to find, this is an over the counter product called Guaipax SR that is listed as containing 75mgs of Phenylpropanolamine and 400mgs of Guaifenesin, it is a cold remedy that helps relieve nasal congestion. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, dry throat, nervousness and insomnia. That also explains why it's been hard to find an identification for it, over the counter medications are not required to be listed with the FDA like prescription drugs. Is there anything else I can help with?

I found a round white tablet with the imprint 244 on it. I believe it may be a Phenylpropanolamine 50mg tablet, but I can not seem to find an image of it any where to be certain. I have tried many different pill identification websites, with no help. The only information that I have been able to find is on this website, but it stated that this was a chewable tablet. The pill that I found is not a chewable tablet. I know that this medication comes in both chewable and regular tablet versions. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. If possible, I would love a reference to an image for this medication so that I can compare it to the pill that I have found. ## With the imprint being only "244" on a white pill, the closest possible match I've come across is Carvedi...

what kind this medicine? this a capsule? ## Is this safe for pregnant women? ## I am sorry, this medication is not available for use in the U.S. and since most other countries do not regulate their medications as strictly as the FDA does here, I cannot find any information on it. I can only suggest that you ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information. ## I've read in the internet that phenylpropanolamine drugs are recalled from over the counter medicines because of their adverse health effects that increased hemorrhagic stroke (bleeding in brain) among women ages 18-49 in the three days after starting use of medication. What could be the safe implication of taking nasathera capsule since it also contains phenlypropanolamine ?
