Pantocid Vs Nexmezol

Good day,

I have been taking Nexmezol for years, but it has become very expensive. My doctor has advised a change to Pantocid which is cheaper in South Africa. Which one is the better product and is there another type of generic available?

Good question....I used to take Nexium and switched to its genetic Nexmezol but its almost as expensive....just ridiculous to pay so much for the generic. What is as effective but one doesnt have to go into overdraft to afford it?

They are both proton pump inhibitors which work by reducing the amount of acid produced by the stomach to help treat, or prevent conditions, such as GERD, heartburn, and ulcers.

Nexmezol contains the active ingredient Esomeprazole, Esomeprazole Information

Pantocid contains the active ingredient Pantoprazole. Pantoprazole Information

While some people do respond better to different medications than others, these are both usually considered interchangeable, and you should be able to take either one, as long as your doctor approves.
