Oxycontin Used To Treat Bi-polar

Has anyone ever heard of oxycontin helping with bi-polar disorder? I found out by mistake. It controls my manic episodes. Which were the thing most people fear most. I just don't understand why no one seems to know this, or why it isn't used on a regular basis. I know it is addictive, but I am a Whole person for the first time in my life and I have NO rage and no manic episodes. Why is that?

Oxycontin contains the narcotic Oxycodone as the active ingredient and narcotics are essentially downers, so it may help prevent the manic episodes from occurring for you.

However, the reason it isn't used to treat such issues is that it does not do this for everyone that uses it and that addiction possibility.

I'm not really sure the oxycodone is so much treating your bi polar, but when taken it gives you a sense of euphoria. They usedto actually make me sort of manic... in the happy, up beat, loving life, sort of way. I would be full of energy and get things done that I otherwise wouldn't have had the energy to do. But not really sure it's treating, rather than masking your no polar symptoms. I'm not a Dr, but have had dealings with many types of drugs trying to overcome my anxiety disorder, and borderline manic/depressive that was diagnosed at 19 (now 40) f
