Oxycontin And Oxycodone Urine Drug Test (Page 9)

When taking a urine drug test, does oxycontin and oxycodone come up as the same drug? I took a 40mg oxycontin on a monday and was drug tested on thurs. I am tested once a month from my pain mangement dr. to make sure my oxycodone's are in my system. So will the 2 drugs show up as one or is there a differance in them with the drug test?

Yes you will be fine! They cannot tell the difference and if anyone suggest so ignore it. I work at a pain management, have had schooling on the subject and suffer chronic pain myself.

Atleast 72 hours but not more then 5 days it depends on the person. Its half life is 12 hours sonin 12 hours half the dose will be gone. You shouldn’t take pain meds unless your in pain though. No good will come of it.

Ok, so I took half a 50mg OxyContin pill Sunday morning at 9 am. I had a drug test today (Thursday) at 3 pm. I did a lot of exercise and drank a lot of water in between. My metabolism is quite fast and I only weigh 180lbs. I'm 21 and 5'11. What are my odds of passing? By the way, that was my first time taking it...

I also have came up positive for coke and am strongly against it!!! I took a test for my pain management dr which was sent to a lab as back up & it showed a mild amount of it in my urine!! I am also that guy that had cut my drug intake down to an 1/8 of what I was on and fought my ass off in the gym and lost the 200lbs I put on in 4 years of spine and neck surgeries from my accident!! So don't assume because when I was a kid my father did coke and almost ripped the family apart!! 8 years and never came up dirty on my end, so since there was a pile of cups in the bathroom my conclusion was someone decided to piss in my cup was the only explanation!!! So you are right there is no false negative, but having it happen to me, now I will hold my specimen until the nurse takes it from me period!! If the dr didn't know me so well I would have been kicked out...

Has nothing to do with a doctor "hating it when their treatment isn't good enough!!!" PM doctors pay insurance rates based on the total amount of Narcotic Units they prescribe per year. Each drug has a number of units. They add the units, multiply by the frequency and add them up for all patients. The stronger a drug and the more pills they = their insurance rates go up. THIS is why doctors don't want to give you anymore. And this is why most just do "interventional" PM, aka injections.

Just so you're aware, there are medications and capsaicin cream which can show up as coke and make a false positive.

I was on oxycontin 60 mg and was changed to xtampza 37 mg. I have a U/A next week at pain management and still had oxycontin left and took them. Will my U/A be able to show this or will this new med metabolize like the op's did? I don't want my Dr. to think I'm a druggie. I was just in so much pain and xtampza er suck.
