Opana/morphine Equivalency

I have been on 15 mg opana er for 2 years. My appointment is in two hours to be put on morphine. They want to put me on 15 mg of that as well. I have a brain disease and suffer from chronic headaches and severe eye pressure. Is this even close to providing the same relief? And I also have epilepsy and if I go through withdrawals I can start to have seizures. How much morphine would it take to equal the 15 mg of opana ER?

From what I've been reading Opana is fixing to be removed by the FDA because of abuse. Oxymorphone was around in the 1970's and was removed because of abuse. Although it remained in hospitals in inj. form since then and through today. I asked my pain management doctor about what I read about the FDA going to pull Opana and he said that it's more than likely going to happen and that he's already taking patients off of it and putting them on other medications. This might be why your doctor is taking you off of it too.
