What Is A Replacement For The New Opanas
4 Replies RSS
Since the pharmacutical company has changed the Opanas my medicine isnt doing what I need to relief me of my pain, what are the best medications should I talk over with my Doctor in order for me to get that will give me the satisfaction of not hurting constantly like the old Opanas did? ## There is a time released medication available called Exalgo, which contains the active ingredient Hydromorphone, it is also a very potent narcotic. Another option would be MS Contin, which is a time released formulation of Morphine, it's also available as a generic. Have you talked to your doctor about it, yet? ## I am on 4 30ml Oxy ir and 2 30 ml of morphine sulfate the morphine makes me nauseated. What should I ask my doctor to switch me to 40ml Oxy ER? ## If in the USA try immediate release Opan...

What's the difference between oxycontin80mg and opana ER40mg
9 Replies RSS
Hi, I'm new here, hoping I can find some answers by real people. I have been taking 80mg oxocontin 1x12hrs., for app. 7 months, via pain clinic, they just, app., 3 weeks ago, changed my meds from that to opanaER 40mg., 1x12hrs., does anyone know the difference between the two? I have been suffering a long time from pain, due to 2 unsuccessful back surgeries, they tell me now, there's nothing more they can do, I am permanently nerve damaged. I have been thru hell and back with different meds, I'm at a loss, now. Any info or support would be deeply appreciated. Thank you ## They both contain different opiates, Oxycontin contains Oxycodone, while Opana contains Oxymorphone. However, the dosage you've been prescribed is equivalent. Have you tried taking it, yet? The FDA clas...

How long to wait from Opana ER 40 mg to Suboxone film
14 Replies RSS
I'm quiting Opana using Suboxone. I've gradually come down from Opana ER 40 mg to 10 mg over a period of 6 months, and am switching today to Suboxone film. Dr told me to wait 24 to 36 hrs before starting Subs (wait till I can't stand the withdrawals any longer). Normally on 10 mg Opana I start to feel withdrawals within 12 hrs, can't get comfortable in my skin, can't sleep, restless leg etc. Problem is I ran out of 10 mg yesterday so the single last Opana I took was an ER 40 mg. It's been 30 hrs and still no noticable withdrawals. I don't want to start the Suboxone until feeling the withdrawals as instructed cause I don't want the Subs to kick in and suddenly block the Opana causing worse withdrawals. How long should I wait? ## There is really no precise ...

When Will Opana ER Be Resumed

Has anyone heard when novartis plant will start making opana ER again? This was my best pain med. ## Hi Donna, Some information that I've gathered on the topic has led me to believe that it shouldn't be more than a year till they reopen: "Novartis Chief Executive Officer Joseph Jimenez said the drugmaker is in discussions with the FDA about restarting production at its Lincoln, Nebraska, plant. Novartis temporarily suspended operations at the facility after consumer complaints about broken pills and packaging mix-ups, the Basel, Switzerland-based company said Jan. 8. While Jimenez declined to comment on when the plant may reopen, he said analyst reports that the plant could be closed for a year were a 'big surprise' to him." will opana show up as morphine on a urine drug test
15 Replies RSS
I want to know if morphine shows up as the same thing as opana on a urine drug test ## What's Opana Bro? ## It depends on what type of a urine test you will have to take. If it is a GC/MS lab test it is doubtful morphine would show up as Opana which is oxymorphone. IF it is a urine dip test like you buy at the store Opana might show up on a morphine test if the levels of opana are very very high. ## I don't think it has anything to do with the test. Morphine shows up as opiates. Opana is oxymorphone and I don't know if it shows up opiates like hydromorphone does or if it requires a separate test like oxycodone does. I think they might show up the same though. The question is does the opana require a separate test. ## From personal experience opanas(was taking the yellow 40s)...

If I Snort An Opana Er How Quick Will It Show Up On Urine Test
7 Replies RSS
How quick will opana er show on urine test if i snort it, will it show up quicker than swallowing it. Test tomorrow. Take half tonight and half in am? Or all tonight, or all in am? Please help! ## Well, first it is not safe to snort any medication that has not been specially formulated to be used nasally. Tablets contain fillers and not all of them are meant to be broken down by the human body, they are normally just expelled as waste. If you crush and snort them, you are putting these substances into your sinuses and lungs in a manner, in which, your body cannot process them out and this creates the risk of blockages. Such blockages can lead to respiratory arrest. Additionally, what you may run into here is not having the proper amounts in your system. If you have been prescribed a cer...

Generic Opana-People Speak up
105 Replies RSS
They are saying that the new opana works as well as the old. There are so many peoples statements that I have read saying the new don't work as well but yet Endo states their research don't prove that. All people who have a real medical problem that causes pain and takes new opana and it doesn' work as well as the old needs to speak up. One person can't change anything. People who are being treated awful by medical doctors and pain clinics because they have pain also need to speak up. ## Read what Endo states what they think will happen with Opana in 2013-14. *double-digit prescription growth in products like Voltaren Gel and the reformulated OPANA ER which will drive growth in our branded pharmaceutical businesses. opana 40mg vs oxycontin op 80mg
394 Replies RSS
my Dr prescribed Opana 40mg as alternative to Oxy 80 mg 2 twice a day which I would insufflate - I didn't tell him this of course. he claimed them to be just as good if not stronger can any one share about opana 40mg ## Inhaling medications that are not intended for that method of usage is very dangerous. You run the risk of overdose and creating blockages in your lungs, which can lead to breathing problems, embolisms and stroke. Opana contains the active ingredient Oxymorphone, this is a potent narcotic pain reliever. Side effects can include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. THis dosage is about the same as what you were taking of the Oxycontin. Do you have any other questions? ## i was taking three oc 40's a day, when the new op 40's came out they seemed to...

Has anyone been on Opana?
26 Replies RSS
My dr is giving me the choice to try Opana and I would like to know if anyone has tried it and what your experience has been. I have a male friend who tried it and said it did absolutely nothing for him. Karel ## Since this is a narcotic, a synthesized morphine compound, how well it works would depend upon the dosage prescribed and the tolerance that the patient has built up to narcotics. The Extended Release form would cause fewer side effects than the instant or regular release, since it slowly releases the dose over a certain time period for better pain control. To find a dosage that works for you, be it this med or some other, is purely a trial and error system between you and your doctor. You would need to try the first prescribed amount for a few weeks, and if that didn't get ...

where to find opana

My doctor prescribed it today for back and shoulder injury. Walmart and CVS doesn't have it and Walgreens won't give me the info over the phone. ## Hi, Sonja! What is your general location? It's very hard for someone to suggest a pharmacy that may have them in stock, without any idea where you are. Can you please post back with more details, such as the nearest large city? Thanks! ## Sonja---hope this info will help you now or in the future. I have done this twice with some success. Email the manufacture by going to their website endo.com/contact and filling out the information. What is the conversion of opana er to exalgo er? I used to take 20mg opana er 3 times a day and was switched to 16mg exalgo er once a day, but it doesn't seem to treat the pain as well or as steady as the opana.

I am currently taking Opana ER 20mg 3xday. It is VERY costly &was wondering if anyone knew if the maker of this med gives low income people a discount or coupon?? ## They currently do not have a program of that nature. Many, many people need such a program but generally you can't get help for pain management. I am on Opana IM & ER @ $1760.00 a month. Thank God for my insurance! ## Yes, getting assistance for these types of medications is very difficult. Opana ER possibly being pulled from market

The FDA is asking Endo to completely discontinue making Opana ER. I just wanted to give anyone who is on this medication a heads up. After careful consideration, the agency is seeking removal based on its concern that the benefits of the drug may no longer outweigh its risks. This is the first time the agency has taken steps to remove a currently marketed opioid pain medication from sale due to the public...

how long does opana stay in your urine

how long will a 40 mg opana stay in your urine? ## Opana is a narcotic pain medication containing the active ingredient Oxymorphone. For a urine test, it will be out of your body wiithin approximately 48 to 72 hours. If you are taking it by prescription, though, you shouldn't have to worry about it and should just inform them when you go to have the test done. Do you have any other questions? ## I did 3 opana 40s on a Monday and had a pee test on a wedsday will it show up clean? ## did u sniff em or eat em? if you ate em drink tons of water and you might have a chance. if you sniffed em you should be all set they're like out in a day if u sniff pills. i know from experience with pills and drug tests haha. ## I am a recovering addict who recently relapsed on opana er. Opana Endo recall

So I heard on the news yesterday that the FDA WANTS to stop production of Endo's Opana. Now my question is are they also gonna make IMPAX/Global to stop production on their generic oxymorphone too? Or is this aimed directly at Endo? I have a script right now that I can't fill for another 2 and a half weeks. What's gonna happen when I bring it in to get filled? It's written as oxymorphone ER NOT OPANA is that gonna matter or am I screwed? Plus on a side note if I would have to get it changed (my script). Would it be too much to ask my Doc to write for 100mg MS Contin or is that too big of a jump from the oxymorphone 30mg ER that I've been getting for a year now? I only ask that because every other milligram of MS CONTIN does not work for me. Only the 100's do anyt...

The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. What Does Opana er Show Up As On A Urine Test
64 Replies RSS
I took a 20mg opana er yesterday morning and have to do a drug test today. I need to know what it will show up as? ## Opana contains the active ingredient Oxymorphone, which is a narcotic opiate and should be detected as such on a drug test. Depending on the type of test they do, they will either just show the presence of an opiate, or they can determine the specific one that you took. However, if you have a prescription, there is no need to worry, just inform them of that, when you go in for testing. Is there anything else I can help with? ## So what exactly does the opana, or oxymorophone show up as in a urine test? It is an in office "cup" urine test. I am prescribed oxycodone but not opan/oxymorophone. I took an opana. Now I am worried. Im not sure what it will show as. Will...
