Omnacortil contains the active ingredient Prednisone. Prednisone is a synthetic corticosteroid drug that is particularly effective as an immunosuppressant drug. It is used to treat certain inflammatory diseases and (at higher doses) some types of cancer, but has significant adverse effects. Because it suppresses the immune system, it leaves patients more susceptible to infections.

I was on Omnacortil since the past 4 years starting from 40 mg going down to 5 mg. I suffer from Crohns. I have given it up under the doctor's orders since the past 8 months. Am since then suffering from severe spinal oestoporosis resulting in extreme pain, extreme fatigue, cramps in stomach and a totally run down feeling. I understand these are the withdrawl symptoms. Can you tell me how long will they last and what should I take to combat them. I can barely move as am always sick tired and in too much pain.

hii i am 22years.old and i am suffering from SLE from past 3 years. i am taking cellcept500 mg, HCQS 20,ddefcort3mg. but the problem is my eyesight has been fluctuated a lot, i ferl numb and mostly i am swelled up since my kidney has been effected...i had few lymphocytes around my.neck. I m not having smell sense, as I take prednisolone fr 4-5 days I start feeling smell, and as I stop it reduces. How long can I continue d dose to cure. Or what else can I do to get my smelling sense.

I am 23years old girl,. I am suffering from SLE For past 6years. I was been taking the tablet called saaz for 6 years, but for last 6 months there is severe pain in legs, hands, neck. Doctor told that this is due to increase in sle and he prescribed omnacortil 60mg for 3 months. After 3 months he decreased tablet by5mg for every week and now I am taking 10mg,. When I started to put this tablet there is weight gain and more muscles in face (like a moon face), my question is that does my face change to normal one after stopping this tablet? Else it will be like a moon face for life long?

I was suffering from Bell’s Palsy and my neurologist suggested I take Omnacortil 60mg for several days and now it has stopped. However, the upper half of my body is now filled with red spots like pimples and it hurts a lot. Is this a side effect of Omnacortil? If so, then how long will it take to go away and are there any treatments that I should consider taking to reduce this effect?

I am suffering from an auto immune disease dermatocystis + scleroderma ovelap. I have been taking omncaortil for about 10 yrs now starting from 40 mg and 5 mg for about 7 yrs now, in between i tried giving it up many a times but couldn't. I have been living a normal life with no pain and nothing abnormal except that i find that i am loosing muscles from my fingers and face. My fingers and face have become very thin. Kindly anyone guide me if there is any permanent cure available and how much worse can it get if i continued on this dosage?
