Ocid contains the active ingredient Omeprazole, it is a proton pump inhibitor that is used to reduce the amount of acid produced by the stomach to treat or prevent conditions such as yours.

It may cause side effects, such as: nausea, dizziness, stomach pain and flatulence.

I suffered heavy acidity for more than 15 years to the extend I will get acid at my throat.Tried many antacids with no relief.Accidentally one doctor prescribed OCID20 mg.I was totally relieved of the problem.I take this on empty stomach everyday along with my BP medication.I tried to reduce the dosage to OCID 10 daily without much relief.I am continuing this medicine for last 2 years-
It seems to me the relief weighed over the side effects-incidentally I am 67 years old-
Can anybody advise if any serious side effect in store for me?
(I don't get nausea or any other effects mentioned somewhere else in the net)

You should go for water therapy. try to drink 4-5 big glasses of luke warm water empty stomach in the morning and after 10-15 minus, puke the water. It keeps the stomach clean and healthy. this should be done daily.
