Anyone on a double narcotic regimen? Want or need to talk about chronic pain??

I'm not on a double narcotic, but I do take Lortab for chronic back pain. I have a hard time finding a Dr. that is sympathetic to my pain. They tell me to take ibuprofen, but if that worked I wouldn't spend money to see a Dr. Any suggestions?

By the way Fioricet is NOT a narcotic; however, it is listed as a medication that has been known to be abused and/or addictive.

Yea it certainly is a narcotic, schedule 4, look it up, and it's addictive. Just letting u know, not trying to be rude. You ever heard of barbiturates? Well it's narcotics, and fioricet has it in it. I'm an 11 year opiate addict, on suboxone now, but also take Fioricet, Vyvanse, Klonopin, which are only available if my mom brings my dose everyday. I'm 37 but I knew it was right thing to do. Clean of serious opiates for 6 years now.

While it is considered a controlled substance, since it contains the barbiturate Butalbital, Fioricet is not an opioid/narcotic. It is placed in the class of sedative and sleep inducing medications according to FDA standards. Not every habit forming medication is an opiate narcotic.

Tinabird and Stacy, how are you both doing? Has there been any change? Have you had any luck getting the help you need?

Norco and Lortab contain Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen, so along with being habit forming, the FDA warns that they may cause other side effects, such as dizziness, headache, nausea, constipation, and dry mouth.
