Nitrofur Macr 100 Mg (side Effects) (Page 2)

I started this medication last evening for a bladder infection. 'Haven't been on this before, and am experiencing headaches about an hour after taking it, and continues for a couple of hours or so. Plus I'm feeling sick to my stomach. I also noticed excessive thirst and urination. Today I drank 14 cups of water, and urinated fifteen times, and the night isn't even over. I also feel like I've been hit by a mac truck.

I am being treated for a bladder infection and after the third 100 ml capsule I have extreme muscle soreness and Severe leg cramps. I am 78 years old and 3 months ago had green light laser procedure with a complete kidney shutdown. I had 3 dialyses and then kidneys were opened to bladder with stents. they were removed about 40 days ago and a follow up with cipro supposedly took care of any infection. I am 2500 miles from home and my surgeon so received treatment in local urgent care. I can tolerate these side effects for the seven days if no permanent effects.

I also took this drug for a UTI, am 59 yrs old. The first 5 days I just felt tired and a little shaky, but these last 3 days have been horrible. The glands in my neck are all swollen, and the glands under my arms. It' hard to sleep because of the pain due to the swollen glands. Anyone else have this problem?

terrible eye pain,ears , throat. extreme cold, and hot.. sever convulsions all bones extreme pain,I thought i might be dying!!!

After the first pill my pain and discomfort were GONE! It helped me. No side effects so far, and i am to be 39. I am grateful for the medicine i was given for it was unbearable to endure what i was goung through.

I am SO sick. Took Rx on Saturday, having come down with UTI symptoms on Friday. Started feeling off but already had a slight cold. By late afternoon, I was sick as a dog with nausea, headache, dizziness, frequent bowel movements. Went straight to bed but had what felt like severe chills (no fever though). Achy everywhere. And weepy. Felt like a bad case of the flu, but had my flu shot this year Went to ER, where I was told after numerous tests that they thought it was a reaction to this drug. So glad my husband shared this site with me; I thought I was going crazy. NOTE: I only took one pill and that was three days ago. It seems crazy that I would still be feeling this bad.

I'm 75 and only took one pill Last night before bed. I thought any side effects wouldn't bother me while sleeping. I started with the dry heave and diarrhea at 6a.m, and am just now able to get out of the bed at 1 P.M. (in betw. bathroom) I was convinced that I was dying. Severe chills; hot flashes. I'm tossing the pills and have it noted on any of my records to never to give it to me again. Still have the headache as well.

same here I just had surgery and they put me on this same meds and I have the same side effects I don't like the side affects it feels like I had a stroke

I am 22 yrs old and i took the nitrofur- macr 100 mg a week before i was suppose to get my period and now i am a week late of getting my period. Does it have to do with this medication? since i understood that antibiotic could have that affect. Please help

My doc prescribed me Nitrofur-Macr due to my allergic reactions to meds and with having a urinary tract infection. I also have an upper stomach ulcer or existing pain, which was due to meds to treat Lyme. I called my doc to double question why I should take this drug if I am having tender upper stomach issues. Sounds like I should not take this drug. Prior to being given this drug, I warned my doctor about stomach issues. This seemed to not hit home.
